Matt Sklar of Strike Anywhere

Director Oskar Bård has joined Hungry Man for representation in the U.S. and U.K. Bård is a respected artist in the Swedish creative industry. He began his career as an art director, then built his own Cannes award-winning agency Blond Swedish Amateurs, and now directs commercials internationally as the founder of Hobby Film. His style ranges from the technique driven Cannes Grand Prix winning commercial for Diesel, “The Heides,” to a more dramatic turn in films like “The Marriage” for Björn Borg. He also adeptly handles many light-hearted and quirky comedy films, often featuring a selection of adorable and heart-warming animals....

Tiny Inventions, the animation directing duo from Baltimore, has signed with 1stAveMachine in London for U.K. representation. Tiny Inventions, which consists of Max Porter and Ru Kuwahata, has been working for over a decade on short films, TV commercials and music videos. The duo’s style of work shows a compelling handling of stop-frame animation, bringing a heartfelt charm and emotion to storytelling. Tiny Inventions’ fourth short, Negative Space, has been nominated for Best Animated Short Film at this year’s 90th Academy Awards. Based on a 150-word poem by Ron Koertge, it’s a short, animated film that depicts a father-and-son relationship through the art of packing a suitcase. It has won 52 major awards and been played in over 137 festivals around the world. Tiny Inventions is repped by Noble Animation in the U.S......
 
Strike Anywhere, the San Francisco and L.A.-based production company, has added director Matt Sklar to its roster. Sklar was born in Austin, Texas then went on to graduate from Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts. He moved to L.A. and worked as an assistant to a producer while making short documentaries, sketches, and spec spots in his free time. As these projects began to win contests, Sklar transitioned to become a professional commercial editor. This broad filmmaking education allowed him to wear both hats simultaneously as his directing career picked up steam, helming broadcast spots for Discover, Infiniti, Quicken Loans, and Under Armour; and editing and directing ads for brands including Johnson & Johnson, Allstate, Facebook, and Instagram. Blending crafted scenes and “stolen moments,” Sklar elevates the commercial with a cinema vérité atmosphere and well-captured performances. Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network recognized this talent in its “Soulful Story” series by featuring “Shan Sings,” a short documentary Sklar directed. The film follows a restaurant owner who sings to his customers and staff to create a beautifully unique dining experience. In addition to his ongoing documentary work and brand stories, Sklar is looking to continue his comedy exploits which already include humor-driven projects for Arlo and Pringles.....
