Bicoastal production company Interrogate has added London-based filmmaker Jamie Rafn to its global roster of directorial talent. Rafn is known for his expansive portfolio of work, from commercials and branded content to film and television projects.

Prior to joining Interrogate, Rafn was most recently with Superprime for commercial representation. He is known for deftly utilizing intelligent humor, beautiful imagery, and sharp dialogue, with a knack for capturing surprising shifts and emotional narratives. A select list of his spots includes international brands like Kia, Virgin, Porsche, Nintendo, McDonald’s, Pedigree, American Family Insurance, a Super Bowl commercial, “Flash Fans” for Budweiser, and a Cannes Lions Grand Prix-winning ad for Volvo. Rafn also won Gold at Cannes Lions for his six-minute, one-take epic film “The Man Who Walked Around The World” for Johnnie Walker, capturing the true tale of the company’s origins starring Scottish actor Robert Carlyle. Rafn’s many awards for commercial filmmaking also include recognition from the Clio Awards, Kinsale Sharks, APA Collection Awards, and LIA.

Rafn’s debut feature film, Soho Square, was shot in 2000 and released by The Sundance Channel. He followed up this auspicious premiere with short films She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not, which was featured in the Saatchi and Saatchi New Director Showcase, and Tokyo Jim, which earned Rafn a European Film Award nomination and won at the London TCM Festival. Rafn directed the six-part comedy sketch show The History of the World Backwards, written by and starring beloved English comedian Rob Newman. Rafn also directed the first season of the BBC sitcom Roger & Val Have Just Got In, starring Alfred Molina and Dawn French, earning French a BAFTA nomination and a second season pickup due to the show’s popularity and distinctive format.

Rafn said, “I have been a lifelong devotee of film. Thankfully, everyone at Interrogate is just as obsessed with film as I am. We all want to deliver the most emotionally resonant and visually stunning films possible for audiences and clients alike. I’m very thankful to be welcomed by such a wonderful company, and I look forward to continuing to grow as a filmmaker with their support.”

“Jamie is so down to earth and kind for someone so impressive,” said Jeff Miller, Interrogate’s managing director and founder, who added, “Every moment and every frame of his films is elevated through his expert directorial lens. Jamie can take any budget and make movie magic with it. There’s truly nothing he can’t do, and we can’t wait to see what’s next from him with Interrogate.”
