Multi-Disciplinary, Award-Winning Director Dael Oates Joins CHROMISTA. With a healthy background in VFX, Animation and Design from an 8 year baptism from the Oscar winning studio Animal Logic, Oates combines performance, visual narrative, VFX and animation to create a unique perspective to his work.
Dael has adapted his extensive experience spanning VFX and live action to campaigns for Southwest Airlines, Braun, Australian Airforce, Renault, Holden, Johnson’s, Target, Staples and Sprint to name a few.
“We are very excited to welcome Dael to the Chromista family,” says Sandy Haddad, Partner and Executive Producer at Chromista. “I’ve always loved his work, and when the chance came for us to align we didn’t waste anytime. He fits in seamlessly to the Chromista culture."
The latest short film, Death In Bloom, is a finalist in the prestigious Dendy Awards at Sydney Film Festival and in competition at the Palm Springs International Shorts Fest. As well as being a filmmaker, Oates is constantly exploring the world around him with his photographic artwork, channeling an abstract view of the urban and natural spaces that surround us. Oates resides with his family in Brooklyn NY.
Chromista was founded by Oscar-nominated director Darren Aronofsky. The venture – co-led by executive producers Ted Robbins and Sandy Haddad – offers services to create high-level advertising for its clients. The directorial roster includes Kasra Farahani, Daniel Portrait, Xavier Mairesse, Marcelo Burgos, and Josh Cole.
