Emmy® Award-winning Writer & Director Lee Farber of Wondros Collective wrote & directed the new series “Expedition: Back To The Future” for the Discovery Channel, which had its debut Monday, March 15th on discovery+. Farber collaborated with the stars of the beloved feature films on the new, four-part series.
In “Expedition: Back To The Future,” screen legend Christopher Lloyd (Doc Brown) and Discovery Channel’s Josh Gates (“Expedition Unknown”) go in search of the seven original DeLorean Time Machines used in the making of the “Back To The Future” movies. This takes them on a journey across the country and through the history of the famed franchise, hoping to find the one mysterious vehicle destined to significantly benefit The Michael J. Fox Foundation.
“As one of the many people who grew up obsessing over ‘Back To The Future,’ writing and directing this series was one of the great joys of my life,” says Farber. “I’ve been lucky to work with some incredible people in my commercial and TV projects, but having the opportunity to direct Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson and Michael J. Fox was something else entirely. It’s a really fun story that combines a scripted adventure with documentary elements, and I think the end result is unique and hilarious. It’s the closest we’re ever going to get to a ‘Back To The Future Part 4,’ so hopefully the fans love it.”
“Lee is an incredibly versatile talent,” adds Wondros Collective Executive Producer Danielle Peretz, who represents Lee for branded content & commercial projects. “Lee developed, wrote and directed this series. It really showcases his talent for comedy and documentary, as well as his innate ability to collaborate with celebrity talent to garner their best performances.”
