Wild Plum is proud to announce the arrival of Executive Producer Tanya Cohen to its team. Tanya’s extensive background in commercial, digital and feature production makes her an invaluable asset to the Venice-based production company.
“Wild Plum and Tanya make up a great Venn diagram,” says Executive Producer/Partner Shelby Sexton. “We obviously have a lot of common background in commercial production, but each of us has also had experience in different areas as well. When we share that knowledge with each other I think all of us will grow and go to new places we might have never gone otherwise.”
Some of that experience Cohen brings includes executive producing for Digital Domain and launching sister company Mothership, as well as EP of Michael Bay’s commercial company, The Institute. She also has a wealth of sales and marketing experience with a stint at Crossroads Films and a partnership with Stacey Altman in her repping firm. Prior to that, Cohen worked as a literary agent for the William Morris Agency both in London and Los Angeles, representing writers and directors with an emphasis in feature film and television. Her feature experience also includes four years as a Vice President for Robert Lawrence Productions, working in feature film development and production.
“I’ve always been involved in talent management in various capacities, which spans both film and television to advertising,” says Cohen. “My experience sourcing filmmakers, nurturing talent and working closely with directors to build an impressive body of work in multiple platforms is what inspires and drives me. I’m excited to team efforts with Wild Plum to explore new talent and business ventures in various media platforms, to compliment the existing roster while simultaneously helping to grow the core business.”
“At Wild Plum, we really pride ourselves on creating a family atmosphere and taking special care of our clients, directors, and really anyone who walks through our doors,” says Sexton. “We knew when we met Tanya that she also feels strongly about those values and we are thrilled to welcome her to the family and see what exciting places this new adventure takes us.”
Cohen adds, “Wild Plum was a very attractive opportunity. They have a great reputation and have a built a solid foundation and brand, and because it is a smaller shop, it allows them to be much more hands on and strategic with their management approach. Also, Shelby and I have similar sensibilities, so it’s great to have a partner that you can team efforts with to cover more territory efficiently and effectively.”
Wild Plum was established in 2007 by industry veterans Shelby Sexton and Alisa Allen. The directorial roster includes visual stylist Ericson Core, lifestyle humorist Sam Crawford, documentarian Aion Velie, comedy/post-production specialist Mike Goubeaux, and veteran action helmer Jan De Bont.

“Ǝvolution” Comes Full Circle At The Chelsea Film Festival
The Chelsea Film Festival, running from October 16th through October 20th, 2024, at Regal Cinemas here in Union Square, is set to host the East Coast premiere of Ǝvolution, a thought-provoking experimental micro-short film that proves big ideas can come in small packages and in perfect circles.
In just 1 minute 16 seconds, this cinematic gem by Award-Winning Director Romina Schwedler, with original music by Argentine Composer Ignacio Montoya Carlotto, explores a cycle as old as time: life leads to progress, progress leads to destruction, and destruction, well, leads back to life. But is this vicious circle unbreakable? Ǝvolution suggests the answer is yes, unless we decide to open our eyes.
Inspired by the overwhelming number of recent events that threaten human existence, Ǝvolution, possibly the shortest film in this 12th edition of the festival, plays out entirely through the symbolism of circles, cleverly illustrating —in the blink of an eye— the repeating patterns of history, and confronting viewers with the uncomfortable truth that our so-called “progress” may, in fact, be guiding us to our own ruin.Premiering at the Regal 14 Union Square, New York City, on October 18, 2024, at 11 a.m., Romina Schwedler's micro-short, featuring Leah Young with cinematography by Alan J. Carmona, will be sure to spark conversations longer than the film itself! Forcing viewers to reconsider the true meaning of evolution, not just as a biological process, but as a reflection of our collective journey as humans.
With a string of festival appearances across the globe, including CineGlobe at CERN (Switzerland/France), Oscar®... Read More
