Visual Connections New York returns on Wednesday, October 22nd to the popular and accessible Altman Building in Chelsea, Manhattan.
This annual education and networking event is for all buyers and researchers of photography, illustration and footage. The one-day program offers a unique opportunity to gain knowledge about sourcing, licensing and using imagery; discover new sources of stock media; meet the people behind the images; learn about the latest trends and pick up tips; network with peers; and enjoy a free lunch, beer or glass of wine.
Starting at 10am, the two-hour Keynote Q&A Session, 360° view of copyright, trends and technology in visual licensing today, is focused on what's new in the industry. Our panel of six industry experts includes attorney Nancy Wolff, specialist in copyright and digital media law at Cowan DeBaets Abrahams & Sheppard LLP; and Darrell Perry, a Pullitzer Prize-winning editor, producer and researcher.
The Footage Q&A Session at 3pm on Best practices for finding & licensing video, sponsored by ACSIL, offers the perfect forum for those new to, or with questions about, sourcing and using stock video. The panelists have wide-ranging experience with archive video and audio used in TV and movie documentary production.
The exhibit floor will showcase over sixty image/footage agencies from around the world, many of them new to this year's event and including specialists covering history, art, the natural world, travel, the military, celebrities, news, food, and science.
Attendees can enjoy a complimentary lunch, snacks and beverages, including beer and wine after 5pm. There is also a free prize drawing sponsored by exhibitors, lots of cool giveaways and the usual great buzz.
Entry is free, but restricted to professional image buyers and researchers. Full details may be found at visualconnections.com/newyork
