Houston agency, John Manlove Marketing & Communications, tapped Pure Evil Music to develop an original song for their 2015 Bridgeland integrated brand campaign. Within hours of JMMC’s TV spots featuring the new song, “We’ve Arrived”, hitting the airwaves, viewers responded. “We received inquires about the music almost immediately and Bridgeland’s website traffic more than doubled overnight. People wanted to know where to go to download the song,” notes JMMC Chief Creative Officer, Eddy Henry.
Bridgeland is a master planned community built by the Howard Hughes Corporation featuring custom houses surrounded by lakes, trails, parks and open spaces with a focus on outdoor activities for the entire family. “After a great initial call with Eddy and his team, we settled on a central theme of ‘home’,” notes Pure Evil Music Senior Composer, Gary Parks. “We wanted this song to resonate with all ages, but also be relevant. We were inspired by some recent indie folk artists that embrace a timeless sound, such as Mumford and Sons, The Lumineers and The Civil Wars."
After auditioning multiple singers, Parks and the Pure Evil Music team ultimately chose an up and coming 23-year-old Dallas based performer named Riley Deaver. “Riley's voice has that undeniable character we were looking for. She's a little jazzy, a little folky and her style really worked for our song," comments Parks. Pure Evil Music Executive Producer, Graham Hagood points out, “We’re constantly building our network of artists, bands and musicians to build our talent roster. Riley is a great example – she has the talent to become a household name.”
Kerry Shaw Brown of LA.B Films directed the spots for JMMC, featuring scenes of residents enjoying the many outdoor amenities Bridgeland has to offer. Henry brought in Alan Landau, LA.B Executive Producer, early on in the project to help manage all phases of the production and post. “This project represents our third collaboration with Pure Evil Music,” notes Landau. “So we were extremely confident they would deliver a great song to drive the editorial and flow with Kerry’s beautiful footage. Based on the viewer response, there’s no doubt they hit another home run.”
Due to viewer demand and web feedback, Bridgeland asked Pure Evil Music to compose a full-length version of the song and make it available to the public. As a result, “We’ve Arrived” (feat. Riley Deaver) by Hook Society is now available on iTunes and all other major digital music providers.
