Boston, Massachusetts May 5, 2008 โ Old Vaudeville began in Boston in the 1880’s when B.F. Keith built an empire of theaters. Does history repeat itself? Sirius Satellite Radio star Red Peters thinks so, and is introducing a new generation to “OddVille“, a live Nu-Vaudeville revue at the historic Cutler Majestic Theater in Boston Massachusetts.
Red Peters, the colorful crooner who has a worldwide fan base for his music and millions of listeners on Sirius Satellite Radio Howard 101, has been working for years collecting extra-ordinary talent from all over the country and specifically chose the city of Boston to launch his very unique project.
“Old Vaudeville was crystallized here in Boston when B.F. Keith introduced performers and freak attractions to his theater on Washington Street. Back then, vaudeville was as diverse in its audience as it was in its programming and it had to appeal to people of all classes and backgrounds. There was always something for everybody. I feel it’s the perfect time for me to resurrect that concept in my own way and I am very excited to introduce OddVille and its ‘hand-picked’ residents to the world on June 7th 2008 at The Cutler Majestic Theater in Boston,Massachusetts.”
Mr. Peters compares his OddVille revue to taking the best of YouTube and bringing it to the stage. “I felt Boston was the best place to launch OddVille and the plan is to take it on tour across the country. There’s an old theater and unique talent in virtually every major city in America that just lay there waiting for my OddVille to come pack the place to the rafters. There’s really nothing like OddVille on the planet” Peters says with a grin.
Red Peters OddVille revue in Boston will feature: Shane Mauss, “TITLER”, Grigory Goryachev, Angie Shyr, Josiah Altschuler, Charlie Savage, Al Millar “The Human Knot”, Charlie Moto, Guinness World Record Holders John and Rebecca Higby, The Oddettes, Raymond and Christine Bokhour and Special Surprise Guests.
