SHOOT Magazine, the leading publication for commercial, branded content and entertainment production, announces panelist/speaker updates for the May 23rd SHOOT Directors/Producers Forum & 11th Annual New Directors Showcase Event at the DGA Theatre in New York City. A full day and evening of learning, discussion, entertainment and inspiration is planned. The daytime Forum agenda includes a series of panel discussions and lunch. The Forum and New Directors Showcase agendas are designed to provide a networking day and evening for filmmakers, videomakers, commercialmakers, ad agency creatives & producers, TV/Cable/Online/Movie development & production execs and brand marketers. Leading directors, agency creatives, production & post execs & artisans will share their expertise, helping to define opportunities in an evolving marketplace spanning advertising and entertainment. Sharing perspectives, experiences and backstories, they’ll provide valuable information on production, workflow and multi-disciplinary talent to help attendees take advantage of new opportunities and provide ideas for realizing creative vision and objectives on upcoming projects.

SHOOT screens excerpts from several notable shorts that made a mark this awards show season, followed by an interview with the filmmakers behind the lauded work.
Panelists
• Cynthia Wade, who won a Short Subject Documentary Oscar for “Freeheld” in 2008 and was nominated in the same category this year for “Mondays at Racine”, the story of two sisters who run a beauty salon on Long Island. Every third Monday of the month, their salon, called Racine, provides free beauty services for women undergoing chemotherapy. She will discuss backstory on “Mondays at Racine” and embarking on a new commercials/branded content chapter in her career, having just signed with Recommended Media.

A cross section of production executives discuss their roles, current projects and perspectives on how they see the advertising and entertainment communities coming together. Joining the conversation will be a leading advertising/entertainment industry attorney who will provide valuable information regarding advertising, branded, & entertainment content.

• Kristen Finch, director of digital production, Grey New York. With credits that include Canon USA’s “Project Imagin8ion,” which was honored by the Next Awards in the Integrated Campaign category last year, Finch will discuss production opportunities opening up in the digital space.
