Trigger LLC, a leading marketing agency headquartered in Los Angeles with additional offices in Shanghai, China, specializing in both the advertising and promotion of major motion picture studio releases as well as prominent brands, has evolved to become a major Hollywood studio resource in the development and implementation of online game marketing promotions. The company is currently involved in the promotion of numerous film and TV projects. The announcement was made today by Jason Yim, Founder and Executive Creative Director, Trigger LLC.
Mr. Yim said, “Online and mobile games provide a unique opportunity to immerse the visitor in the story, characters and location of a film. And as an undeniable component of consumer media, games typically lag behind only the film’s official trailer in terms of content most visited on a site. It makes strategic sense then for Trigger to take our games very seriously. We have a 3D team that can recreate hero characters and locations from the film, and then meeting our client’s impeccable standards. Our dedicated game programmers constantly add to and improve our library of game engines.”
Utilizing the creative talents and technical skills of its dedicated team of developers and 3D artists who specialize in the creation, development and implementation of online gaming applications, Trigger is currently working to promote numerous projects. These include:
ABOUT ONLINE GAME FOR “STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS”
To bridge the gap between the airing of the first and second TV seasons of “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” Trigger has created the third in a series of online promotional games, this one entitled “Gunship.” (Note: Trigger previously created the online game “Sharpshooter” to promote the “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” movie which was released in 2008, as well as the game “Live Fire,” promoting the launch during Fall 2008 of the first season of the TV series on Cartoon Network.)
In conjunction with an online comic book created by Lucasfilm that will appear online this summer (bridging seasons 1 and 2 of the TV series,) Trigger’s “Gunship” game is connected to the previous games via code words. Lucasfilm provided Trigger with 3D models, art and sound FX from its series for the creation of these accompanying online games.
“‘Star Wars’ fans have a deep appreciation for cutting edge digital effects, great game play, and engaging stories. Trigger has worked closely with us at Lucasfilm to develop some of the very best games on the web at StarWars.com,”
said Bill Gannon, Director of Online Operations at Lucasfilm Ltd.
“Star Wars: The Clone Wars” is a 3D CGI animated television series created by Lucasfilm Animation, that airs on Cartoon Network every Friday at 9pm (E/P). The series is set in the fictional Star Wars galaxy.
ABOUT ONLINE GAME FOR “X-MEN ORIGINS: TIME WARRIOR”
Entitled “X-Men Origins: Time Warrior,” this Trigger-developed online game allows the player to “be” Wolverine through three different battles through time: the Civil War, World War 1, and Vietnam. The game, which is also accessible through all social networking platforms (including MySpace, Facebook and Bebo,) allows players to create their own “Weapon X” mutant. Players can challenge their friends through these social networking outlets. The more battles a player wins, the stronger his/her “mutant” becomes.
“X-Men Origins: Time Warrior” is a completely custom 3D game from Trigger, which also created the 3D environments, characters and visual effects. Media coverage of this game has already been covered by:

And

Starring Hugh Jackman, “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” is the story of Wolverine, who lives a mutant life, seeks revenge against Victor Creed (who will later become Sabretooth) for the death of his girlfriend, and ultimately ends up going through the mutant Weapon X program.
ABOUT ONLINE GAME FOR “FAST & FURIOUS”
To promote this film, Trigger created an online racing game which follows the narrative storyline from the movie. Each player can select his/her vehicle (either the one used by “Dom” or “Brian”) and then must face three different
challenges: to prove himself, to race the Mexican desert, or to avoid capture through Mexican tunnels. This game is part of the official “Fast & Furious” movie website, and can also be installed as a Facebook app.
Vin Diesel and Paul Walker reteam for the ultimate chapter of the franchise built on speed — “Fast & Furious.” Heading back to the streets where it all
began, they rejoin Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster to blast muscle, tuner and exotic cars across Los Angeles and floor through the Mexican desert in this new high-octane action-thriller.
ABOUT ONLINE GAME FOR “DISTRICT 9”
In this custom, 3D game from Trigger for Sony Pictures, players can choose between playing as security officers quelling a revolt by District 9’s non-human population, or as non-humans rising up against human authorities. Trigger’s 3D work includes all modeling, environments, aliens, cities, weapons, vehicles and visual effects.
Directed by Neill Blomkamp, written by Neill Blomkamp and Terri Tatchell and produced by Peter Jackson and Carolynne Cunningham, “District 9” depicts a fictional world where extraterrestrials have become refugees in South Africa. The film will be released in theaters August 14, 2009.
ABOUT ONLINE GAME FOR “THE TAKING OF PELHAM 1 2 3”
Trigger created an interactive graphic novel for Sony Pictures in conjunction with this film. Playing either as a SWAT team member or subway car hijacker, the graphic novel features two narrative ‘chapters’ with a first-person shooter game embedded midway through each chapter. The game is performance-based, so the end of each chapter narrative depends on the user’s success in the game. Trigger created custom comic book art and animated motion graphics for the game.
In “The Taking of Pelham 123,” Denzel Washington stars as New York City subway dispatcher Walter Garber, whose ordinary day is thrown into chaos by an audacious crime: the hijacking of a subway train. John Travolta stars as Ryder, the criminal mastermind who, as leader of a highly-armed gang of four, threatens to execute the train’s passengers unless a large ransom is paid within one hour.
As the tension mounts beneath his feet, Garber employs his vast knowledge of the subway system in a battle to outwit Ryder and save the hostages. But there’s one riddle Garber can’t solve: even if the thieves get the money, how can they possibly escape? The film will be released in theaters June 12, 2009.
ABOUT ONLINE GAME FOR “PLANET 51”
The “Planet 51” online games are alien-themed activities fit for a family audience. These simple games are set in the alien world depicted in the film and include characters and challenges from the film.
Starring Dwayne Johnson, Jessica Biel, Justin Long, Seann William Scott, Gary Oldman and John Cleese, “Planet 51” will be released by TriStar Pictures on Nov. 20, 2009. The film is a galactic sized animated alien adventure comedy revolving around American astronaut Captain Charles “Chuck” Baker, who lands on Planet 51 thinking he’s the first person to step foot on it. To his surprise, he finds that this planet is inhabited by little green people who are happily living in a white picket fence world reminiscent of a cheerfully innocent 1950s America, and whose only fear is that it will be overrun by alien invaders…like Chuck!
