The bonus features contained within Sony Pictures Home Entertainment’s BluRay release of “Resident Evil: Degeneration,” won the “Best Interactivity” Award during the recently held, first-ever Digital Entertainment Group (DEG) awards event in Tokyo, Japan. Hollywood-based entertainment marketing agency Trailer Park produced the interactive bonus features for that BluRay title.

The Digital Entertainment Group Japan recently held its first award ceremony in Tokyo in recognition of the best in class BluRay titles released in Japan during the calendar year 2008. The “DEG JAPAN Award – BluRay Prize” was established as the first series of awards in Japan to recognize BluRay titles for their excellence in the areas of Picture Quality, Sound Quality and Interactivity. The award winning selections were made by prominent audio visual critics Reiji Asakura, Yusuke Fujiwara and Masakazu Honda, Film and DVD magazine editors, and representatives from hardware manufacturers with membership in DEG JAPAN.
The “BEST IN INTERACTIVITY” Award went to “Resident Evil: Degeneration” from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (Japan.) Comment from judges: “The viewing experience is deepened by the ‘Picture in Picture’ feature that allows the user to see additional, well-selected bonus content such as ‘making of’ scenes, all while watching the movie.”
