New Music Supervision and Synch Licensing Service Offers Commercial, TV & Film Clients Fast Music Searches Within Music Elite Catalog
Original Music/Sound Design and Licensing studio Thwak! Music has launched a new online toolset designed for video editors, producers, music supervisors and creative professionals working in commercials, TV, film and multimedia.
The toolset, named "KBV Synch" after the KBV Records label run by Thwak!, uses an efficient new user interface, improved tagging, more filters, and iPhone/iPad compatibility to speed music experts and their clients to the ideal music for their project.
The result is a powerfully simple one-stop resource where clients can easily locate exclusive songs and instrumentals, then license them quickly and easily. In many cases a desired track can also be customized upon request. "In KBV Synch, we combined our music production, ad agency and song clearance experience from Thwak! with the A&R power and artist roster of a record label," says Creative Director, Tony Verderosa.
The KBV Synch search engine now features approximately 5,000, exclusively-represented songs and instrumentals from such in-demand artists as DJ DRM, Romans, Smiles and Frowns and the Black Flamingos. The catalog also offers Emmy Award-winning film composer Alex Wurman (Anchorman, Temple Grandin ,Talladega Nights,) and GRAMMY winner Philippe Saisse (Rolling Stones, Chaka Khan) among many other well-known composers. Tracks can be searched via a wide variety of criteria including genre, mood, tempo, vocals/instrumentals and lyrics keywords.
Thwak! Music introduces KBV Sync following an extremely productive 2011, which saw the company creating music for a wide range of Film, TV, commercial and branding campaigns. Recent projects for Thwak! include complete music supervision and song clearance for the upcoming feature film Recalled from director Mike Connors featuring Bow Wow, Aidan Quinn, Seth Gable and Pablo Schreiber; synch licensing for a Smirnoff ad campaign directed by David LaChappelle; Original Music Score for Best Buy’s holiday campaign, directed by Craig Gillespie for agency Crispin Porter and Bogusky; original music for the HBO Go campaign directed by Tom Kuntz via agency BBDO, New York; and most recently music supervision and synch licensing for Lean Cuisine and agency J. Walter Thompson, New York.
"Now more than ever, music supervisors and creative directors need a fast, efficient one-stop source of world-class music," Verderosa says. "Media producers appreciate that Thwak! has always set the bar extremely high for inclusion in our artist-driven catalog. They need excellent music for their projects, and they usually need it very fast. KBV Sync, and the people behind it, helps them keep pace with the speed of media production."

“Ǝvolution” Comes Full Circle At The Chelsea Film Festival
The Chelsea Film Festival, running from October 16th through October 20th, 2024, at Regal Cinemas here in Union Square, is set to host the East Coast premiere of Ǝvolution, a thought-provoking experimental micro-short film that proves big ideas can come in small packages and in perfect circles.
In just 1 minute 16 seconds, this cinematic gem by Award-Winning Director Romina Schwedler, with original music by Argentine Composer Ignacio Montoya Carlotto, explores a cycle as old as time: life leads to progress, progress leads to destruction, and destruction, well, leads back to life. But is this vicious circle unbreakable? Ǝvolution suggests the answer is yes, unless we decide to open our eyes.
Inspired by the overwhelming number of recent events that threaten human existence, Ǝvolution, possibly the shortest film in this 12th edition of the festival, plays out entirely through the symbolism of circles, cleverly illustrating —in the blink of an eye— the repeating patterns of history, and confronting viewers with the uncomfortable truth that our so-called “progress” may, in fact, be guiding us to our own ruin.Premiering at the Regal 14 Union Square, New York City, on October 18, 2024, at 11 a.m., Romina Schwedler's micro-short, featuring Leah Young with cinematography by Alan J. Carmona, will be sure to spark conversations longer than the film itself! Forcing viewers to reconsider the true meaning of evolution, not just as a biological process, but as a reflection of our collective journey as humans.
With a string of festival appearances across the globe, including CineGlobe at CERN (Switzerland/France), Oscar®... Read More
