Theo Von (www.theovon.com), comedic host of Yahoo!’s popular daily recap show Prime Time In No Time with a monthly audience of 6.7 million, has been set to host the 50th Annual ICG Publicists Awards (IATSE Local 600) Luncheon to be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on February 22.
Von is also the host of Celebrity Pets for Yahoo!, a reality correspondent for OMG! Insider and a Last Comic Standing alumnus. His work as a stand-up comedian has garnered him numerous accolades.
Among those to be honored at the luncheon are Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Kirk Douglas; Motion Picture Showmanship Award recipient Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Productions; and Television Showmanship Award recipients Chris McCumber and Jeff Wachtel, co-presidents of the USA Network.
Presenters include Matt Bomer, star of USA Network’s White Collar, and Piper Perabo, who stars in USA’s Covert Affairs.
Other awards to be given out are the Press Award; the International Media Award; the Maxwell Weinberg Awards, which recognizes outstanding accomplishment in the field of publicity; the Les Mason Award, given to a publicist for lifetime achievement; the Excellence in Still Photography Award; and the Bob Yeager Award, which recognizes significant community service.
The ICG Publicists Awards began in 1964, honoring excellence in publicity and promotion for motion pictures and television programs and spotlights the work of union publicists. Recipients are selected in several different categories and are voted on by their peers in Local 600. No other event celebrates the importance of publicists’ contribution to the entertainment industry.
