Technicolor PostWorks New York continues its long-standing association with DOC NYC as a Signature Sponsor of the documentary film festival happening this month in New York. Ben Murray, the facility’s Vice President/Creative Services, and Joe Beirne, its Chief Technology Officer, will co-host a panel aimed at first-time filmmakers entitled “Post-Production Secrets.” Additionally, Technicolor PostWorks provided post-production services for five films screening at the festival.

The “Post-Production Secrets” seminar is scheduled for Thursday, November 12th at 2:00 p.m. at the IFC Center in Manhattan. Murray and Beirne will be joined by documentarians Laura Israel (Windfall, Viewfinders Grand Jury Prize at DOC NYC 2010) and Melinda Shopsin (The House I Live In, Grand Jury Prize 2012) for an insightful discussion of new approaches to editorial, color, sound design and final delivery, and new camera formats, including 4K and Ultra HD.

The C Word, an NYC premiere, is filmmaker and cancer survivor Meghan O’Hara’s investigation of the connection between the current cancer epidemic and Western lifestyles. Once and For All, a world premiere, is a revealing look back at the 1995 Beijing Women’s Conference from Oscar nominee and Emmy winner Michael Epstein, Emmy winner Dyllan McGee and producer Sara Wolitzky. The Ties that Bind, a world premiere, is Grammy and Emmy winning director Thom Zimny’s glimpse into the making of Bruce Springsteen’s seminal 1980 album “The River.” Technicolor PostWorks provided editorial conforming, color grading and deliverables; Sean R. Smith, colorist and conform editor.
