One year Obama stopped in next door and added an air of excitement while tying up traffic. Another year a cowboy rode into the party on a white horse. Another year there was a celebrity poker match, although the party organizers won’t divulge who the celebs were, or how much they lost.
When Synthetic Pictures Founding Director Justin Corsbie visited an Orangetheory Fitness for the first time, one thing became clear — it’s membership is a diversely fit group with cult-like dedication to their workouts.
It wouldn’t be SXSW without the unofficial advertising and production kick off party, SXKO, and this year’s 5th annual bash proved to be epic, featuring fire dancing, an LED light show, buzzed-about bands, a taco truck and more than 600 attendees ready to get the SXSW ball rolling.
It’s hard to compete with the star power of President Barack Obama, but a quintet of advertising’s top production and post production players did just that as they marked the start of the 2016 SXSW Festival with yet another rockin’ party.
Did he wrangle a marlin onto his boat with his bare hands? Is he sculpted like a super hero? Did Sasquatch really say that he saw him once, trumping through the brush?
