Mark Feldstein and Brad Roth, co-presidents of Stun Creative, an award-winning agency and production company, have named Jeremy Colfer as Vice President, Branded Content and Development, a new post.
Feldstein and Roth said, “The hiring of Jeremy Colfer is an exciting next step for us, as we continue with our goal of developing and producing original branded content for the web and television. Although we’ve built our core business creating advertising and promotional campaigns for networks, we always felt our ideas could extend beyond the thirty-second spot into longer form content. Our production infrastructure, coupled with our ability to tell a story, has uniquely positioned us as a ‘Micro-Studio.’ With the addition of Jeremy, we are now better suited to pilot and ultimately produce this type of material.”
Adds Colfer, “Working with Stun Creative on the web series ‘The Writers Room,’ I was immediately impressed by Mark and Brad’s energy and their ability to produce television-quality content on a digital budget. I’m thrilled to join their team and look forward to developing innovative, original multi-platform projects that build on Stun’s amazing reputation in the industry.”
ABOUT JEREMY COLFER:
Prior to joining Stun Creative, Jeremy Colfer was Director of Development and Production for Sony Pictures Television’s digital network Crackle. There, he honed his negotiating skills and his ability to develop entertaining content for the digital space. Colfer established strong relationships with agencies, talent and producers on both coasts while he oversaw the production of hundreds of episodes of digital content, including web hits “Gorgeous Tiny Chicken Machine Show,” “American Dreamers” and “The Writers Room,” from Stun Creative.
Originally from New Jersey, Jeremy Colfer moved to Los Angeles in 1998 and began working in various production capacities on independent features, short films and local commercials. At MGM, Colfer pioneered the on-demand online distribution of studio-owned content when the first wave of Internet retailers emerged. Later, in a similar role at Sony Pictures Television, he expanded those content offerings to include ad-supported and download-to-own distribution models.
Colfer has a BA in Communications from West Chester University, and an MBA from Pepperdine University.
ABOUT “THE WRITERS ROOM:”
In April 2008, Stun Creative’s “The Writers Room,” a 10-part original scripted web-series, premiered on Sony’s C-Spot comedy channel (found at Crackle.com, YouTube, AOL Video, Hulu and Verizon Wireless’ V Cast Video service.) The scripted comedy series offered a behind-the-scenes glimpse of a fictional late night talk show hosted by Kevin Pollak (“A Few Good Men,” “The Usual Suspects,”) and starred real life television writers and show runners.
“The ‘Writers Room’ wasn’t just a satire about Hollywood,” says Feldstein. “We tackled many important issues in our first season, including global warming, when one of the writers stopped wearing deodorant and decided to ‘go green,’ much to the chagrin of his colleagues in the cramped room.” Adds Roth, “Another episode took on healthcare. When mental health coverage is dropped from the writers’ plan, the network honcho decides to lead a group therapy session with the help of a ‘sharing stapler.’ Sometimes, people can share just a little ‘too’ much.”
PREVIOUS STUN CREATIVE ORIGINAL CONTENT PRODUCTION:
Before producing “The Writers Room,” Stun Creative and Roth/Feldstein had previously written and directed two comedy short films for Showtime โ “The Swinger,” starring Chris Elliott and Bob Costas, and “Karaoke Knight,” starring Jeffery Ross. Roth and Feldstein also executive produced a comedy short starring Jack Black promoting TBS, working with famed comedy director Jay Roach (“Meet the Fockers,” “Austin Powers.”)
In the online digital world, Stun previously earned acclaim for its “Bush Bites” โ an animated series featuring real and stupefying sound bites from former President George W. Bush, which were produced for Fremantle Media. Stun also has the distinction of having produced the “Ginger and Mary Ann Pie Fight” for client TBS, listed within iFilm’s top “100 Downloaded Videos” of all time.
