    Studio and Production Services Leader Quixote To Acquire Movie Movers

    From a lone motorhome, Quixote grows to one of the largest fleet of production vehicles in the entertainment business.

    HOLLYWOOD -- (SPW) --

    Mikel Elliott, CEO of Quixote Studios LLC, announced today the acquisition by Quixote Studios of Movie Movers Inc., a leading supplier of production and talent trailers to the entertainment industry.  The combined entity is now one of the largest production vehicle fleets in Hollywood and one of the top national players.

    Quixote, founded in 1995, runs three state-of-the-art studio facilities: two in Los Angeles and a third in New Orleans.  All facilities service the feature film, TV, commercial and print photography sectors.  Besides having over 1 million square feet of production space, Quixote is recognized for its own custom fleet of luxury production vehicles, including the “Verde”-branded celebrity motor homes.  Additionally, Quixote provides grip and lighting equipment, trucks, expendables and production supplies — a veritable one-stop shop for the discerning producer.  Outside its home base of Los Angeles, the company now has offices in the production centers of New York, New Orleans, Atlanta, and Michigan.

    Movie Movers, founded in 1984, provides luxurious celebrity, multi-room talent, hair & make-up, wardrobe, production, and school room trailers.  The Movie Movers executive leadership will join the combined entity under employment contracts.

    The combined entity of Quixote and Movie Movers now has over 200 full-time staff.  The vehicle fleet will grow to 150 production trucks and over 450 trailers.

    Said Quixote CEO Elliott, who started Quixote in 1995 with one motorhome along with current Quixote partner Jordan Kitaen: “The Movie Movers acquisition culminates a long-term strategy to provide the highest-quality trailers to the film and TV marketplace.  Our commercial clients who crossover to long-form content can now avail themselves of the upcoming Verde line of trailers.  Technology, sustainability, great styling and superior service will be hallmarks of the newly integrated trailer fleet.”

    Movie Movers Founder Bailey added: “With more resources and the marketing strength of Quixote, the possibilities are endless. This is a service business, and our clients will now get the best service and the best trailers in the industry.”

    Financial adviser to the buyer was The Sage Group, LLC.  Quixote legal representation was provided by Eisner Jaffe Gorry Chapman & Ross. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
