Terry King, Managing Editor for STS-Griot, is proud to announce the promotion of Associate Editor and long time client favorite Zach DuFresne to Creative Editor.
According to King, “Zach’s work reflects his many years of experience both locally and nationally, as well as his innovation as an editor. His technical abilities are very strong and he exhibits complete creative expression as an editor. He implements his visions without being slowed down by technology, and he possesses a unique artistic sensitivity to the subtle details that combine to create truly great work.”
DuFresne originally joined STS-Griot’s predecessor, Griot Editorial, in the fall of 2004 as an Assistant Editor. He quickly became a valuable member of the team, and in 2008 he gained widespread recognition when he won the AICE filmspotting competition. Zach’s ability as an editor coupled with his warm, engaging personality contributed to his success, and he was promoted to Associate Editor later that year. In this role, Zach cut for clients such as Ford on behalf of JWT, Chevy on behalf of Campbell-Ewald, and Dodge & DP & Company on behalf of Global Hue.
Starting in early 2009, DuFresne spent the next two years gaining a wealth of experience as a freelance creative editor, continuing to collaborate with Griot Editorial as well as with Kinetic, Pluto Post, Bottle Rocket Productions, and A Fine Mess Productions for a wide variety of clients. During this time, Zach also gained valuable experience on projects unique to cities like California, New York, and Brazil, where he cut with Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere on several freelance projects.
In November 2010, after becoming the Lead Creative Editor for Single Barrel Detroit, Zach took a full time position at Pluto Post. There he cut with Doner, Goodby and Solomon Friedman, before returning to the STS-Griot team in March as Associate Editor.
King went on to say, “When Zach returned, he hit the ground running and hasn’t stopped since. He is a great asset to our talented editorial roster and we are confident he will continue to exceed our clients’ expectations in his new role as Editor.”
