STEELE’s move coincides with the company’s contributions to four recent and very high profile projects. The STEELE Studios team performed 4K conform, online, color grading, beauty, compositing, titles, graphics, mastering and multiple conversions/deliverables for the Skechers “Relaxed Fit” 2013 campaign, for agency Siltanen & Partners Advertising in El Segundo, CA. The collaboration of STEELE and Siltanen produced several spots featuring Joe Montana, Mark Cuban, Tommy Lasorda and Ronnie Lott. Also for Siltanen & Partners Advertising, STEELE Studios’ Jerry Steele provided the Voice Over narration for a second Skechers SuperBowl 2013 spot, entitled “Man Vs. Cheetah.” To view this spot, please click here.
STEELE Studios more recently provided the conform, online, visual effects, beauty work, and additional color grading on Mariah Carey’s latest music video, entitled “Almost Home” – the title song to the hit Disney film “Oz: The Great and Powerful.” This video, featuring scenes from “Oz,” was directed by David LaChapelle and produced by HSI Productions. On the feature film side, STEELE Studios recently provided dailies, 2K conform, online, color grading, VFX, compositing, beauty/retouching, main and end titles, subtitles, pan and scan, dust busting, 5.1 audio laybacks, and mastering for the feature film “Border Run.” The film, starring Sharon Stone and Billy Zane, was directed by Gabriela Tagliavini. “Border Run” tells the story of a female American reporter (Stone) who searches for her missing brother against the backdrop of drugs, violence and human trafficking across the U.S./Mexican border.
In addition, STEELE recently provided complete 3D Stereoscopic Services for Conservation International (CI) and Sony for their international reel. “Ǝvolution” Comes Full Circle At The Chelsea Film Festival
The Chelsea Film Festival, running from October 16th through October 20th, 2024, at Regal Cinemas here in Union Square, is set to host the East Coast premiere of Ǝvolution, a thought-provoking experimental micro-short film that proves big ideas can come in small packages and in perfect circles.
In just 1 minute 16 seconds, this cinematic gem by Award-Winning Director Romina Schwedler, with original music by Argentine Composer Ignacio Montoya Carlotto, explores a cycle as old as time: life leads to progress, progress leads to destruction, and destruction, well, leads back to life. But is this vicious circle unbreakable? Ǝvolution suggests the answer is yes, unless we decide to open our eyes.
Inspired by the overwhelming number of recent events that threaten human existence, Ǝvolution, possibly the shortest film in this 12th edition of the festival, plays out entirely through the symbolism of circles, cleverly illustrating —in the blink of an eye— the repeating patterns of history, and confronting viewers with the uncomfortable truth that our so-called “progress” may, in fact, be guiding us to our own ruin.Premiering at the Regal 14 Union Square, New York City, on October 18, 2024, at 11 a.m., Romina Schwedler's micro-short, featuring Leah Young with cinematography by Alan J.
