double wide media‘s excellent editors are stepping up their game! Emmy winner Stacey Foster is co-directing and editing a documentary with her longtime producing partner Autumn Tarleton on Brooklyn artist, and frequent collaborator, Mac Premo’s public art piece, “The Dumpster Project“. Previous works between Mac and Stacey include Made Possible’s web series “Men at Work” and “Art Walk ’09” which garnered Stacey an Emmy for her spot editorial work (Best Graphics). The spot also won an Emmy for Best Commercial (Single Spot). “The Dumpster Project“, which is the name of both the documentary and the installation, displays Mac’s enormous but beloved collection of over 400 pieces of “junk”. The instillation piece is currently on display in Brooklyn’s DeKalb Market at City Point. Stacey’s credits include Planet Green’s Sundance hit “Animals Distract Me” with Isabella Rossellini, as well as Ms. Rossellini’s Webby Award winning series “Green Porno” and “Seduce Me”. Stacy also did editorial work on Conde Nast’s “GQ Rules”, for GQ’s online magazine, GQ.com, another Webby Award winning web series.
Meanwhile, editor and director Laura Israel is returning to spot editorial and is available through double wide media. In addition to her editorial work, she continues work on a feature length documentary about the legendary photographer and filmmaker Robert Frank. Laura has worked with double wide media on projects such as “Windfall“, a documentary that explores a small town’s struggles with industrial wind turbine development in their rural area, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, won the Grand Jury Prize at DOCNYC, and has a theatrical release set for early 2012. Previously, Laura edited “Life for a Child” and “In the Hearts of Africa” for double wide media, two documentaries about children with diabetes in Nepal and the Congo. The documentaries were directed by Academy Award nominee Ed Lachman and have played at numerous festivals across the country and internationally. Additional editing credits include Stephanie Black’s “Africa Unite”, a feature length documentary, as wells as “Covered Girls”, a Nashville Short Film Festival winner. “Covered Girls” was also screened on Showtime.
Since 2003, double wide media, a Manhattan based company has pioneered in production for mobile and digital platforms as well as cable and network programing. In addition to producing commercial work for GQ and Eli Lilly as well as independent documentaries, double wide media has also produced beautiful cinematic work that contribute to artistic cinema. Most recent contributions include, “Shadow”, a collaboration between Slater Bradley and Academy Award nominated cinematographer, Ed Lachman and Laurie Simmon’s “Music of Regret”, starring Academy Award winning actress, Meryl Streep and featuring work from Ed Lachman and editing by Laura Israel. double wide media is also developing several programs for mobile, cable and network distribution including, “Random Fandom”, a reality/docu series that explores the fandom at fan conventions, “The Flesh”, a medical mystery drama about a plague that sweeps the country, and a reality series starring Robbie Johnson, son of racing legend Junior Johnson.
