Audio Production Company Bar1 has teamed up with Ad Agency DeVito Verdi to create a hilarious TV campaign for Legal Sea Foods. Currently running in Boston but set to expand it’s run by November, the campaign pushes the advertising envelope โ and in usual Legal Sea Foods advertising style, does not disappoint.nnEach spot in the four spot campaign features an awkward situation that occurs on the water when too much time passes while fishing. One spot, insinuates a man has thrown his nagging wife overboard. Another features a Grandfather dying. A third involves two men enjoying the solitude until one attempts to come out of the closet. It’s all tied up neatly with the tagline “It takes a long time to catch a fish. Spend some time with us instead.”nn nnnnnnThe spots have created quite a stir in Boston, where the Globe and other local news outlets have cited the campaign’s intriguing style. “There are campaigns that are fun, campaigns that are effective, and campaigns that you are proud of. This one is all three,” says Joe Barone, owner of Bar1. “It’s always a wildly unexpected rollercoaster ride working with our friends at DeVito Verdi.” Barone directed the voices for the campaign. They were cast at Bar1 by Casting Director Dawn Mjoen and Chief Engineer Tim Leitner recorded and mixed the spots. nn”Every time we work with Joe, we win something. Not to mention, when you have to kill a wife, kill a grandfather, sink a boat, and out gay cowboys, we knew we had to call Joe,” says DeVito Verdi Creative Director Brad Emmett. The creative team from DeVito Verdi also included Bob Fremgen and Vinny Tulley. The agency producer was Barbara Michelson, Director of Broadcast Production. nnBar1 is a full service multi-award winning audio production company offering voice directing, voice over casting, original music, sound design, radio production, script writing and consulting, and 5.1 surround sound mixing. www.bar1nyc.comnnCreditsnClient: Legal Sea FoodsnAgency: DeVito VerdinBarbara Michelson, Producer/Director of Broadcast Production; Co-Creative Directors, Brad Emmett, Bob Fremgen and Vinny TulleynEditing: Homestead Editorial; Editor, Kevin PalmernCreative Soundtrack Production Company: Bar1nJoe Barone, Owner/Director/Producer; Casting Director, Dawn Mjoen and Chief Engineer Tim Leitner
