The editors of SHOOT Magazine will soon select the “Top Spot of the Year.” But first, we’d like to get your opinion. We have culled through some 50 pieces of work that earned SHOOT “Top Spot of the Week” status throughout 2012, narrowing the field down to 14 finalists from which to choose. A 15th finalist, Procter & Gamble’s “Best Job,” was added to the mix given SHOOT’s extensive coverage of the commercial during the year.
Take a minute to cast your vote in SHOOT Magazine’s 2012 “Top Spot of the Year” poll at www.SHOOTonline.com.go/SHOOTsurvey or vote here (pop-up window). Several finalists are comedy driven, including DirecTV’s “Roadside Ditch,” Liberty Mutual’s “Humans” and Nissan Altima’s “Enough.” Some tug at the heartstrings, a prime example being P&G’s “Best Job.” And others are whimsical flights of fancy like Target’s “Color Changes Everything.”
While the finalists are diverse, they share an uncommon bond of great storytelling. And from this assortment, we’d like you, our readers, to chime on on what you regard as the best of the batch, the Top Spot of 2012.

Wieden+Kennedy is SHOOT Advertising Agency of the Year 2012
(see below for special “Congratulations Ad” Opportunity!)
SHOOT selects its annual Ad Agency of the Year based on which ad shop made the biggest positive impact in the current year in terms of brand building, creative, and successfully weaving its clients into the social fabric of mainstream and pop culture. In an evolving creative marketplace where advertising and entertainment continued to come together, SHOOT selects the agency that stood out in 2012, not only bridging these worlds successfully but earning award nominations and wins along the way.
As entertainment and advertising intersect, that crossroads has again been most aptly navigated by Wieden+Kennedy as underscored, for example, by the Emmy Awards. This year three of the five nominated commercials for the primetime Emmy Award were created by W+K: Chrysler’s “It’s Halftime in America,” Target’s “Color Changes Everything” and Procter & Gamble’s “Best Job.” The latter won the Emmy, marking the fourth consecutive year that W+K has earned the Television Academy honor. These and other accomplishments made 2012 a most memorable year for W+K, fueling its selection as our Agency of the Year. SHOOT talks with leading W+K creative and production execs for insights into the inner workings of the agency and the dynamics that drive its success.
