The ME Film Festival, which wrapped last Sunday, celebrated its 5th Anniversary this year with a notable focus on women filmmakers, a mission that festival founder and president Jeremiah Bennett has carried out since the very beginning.
"The Visit" explores familial relationships, proposing a unique angle on the complexity of the human mind and emotions, and proving with elegance and ingenuity, that things are not always the way they appear.
With nine (9) awards, eight (8) nominations and five (5) special mentions to date, the 12:30 minute psychological drama continues to enjoy a fruitful festival run, with upcoming screenings May 5th at the Twister Alley Film Festival (OK) where the film is nominated for Best Drama Short, Best Director and Best Ensemble Cast, and returning to its native NYC for the SOHO Film Festival in June.
Director Romina Schwedler, who was an Honoree at SHOOT Magazine's 12th Annual New Director's Showcase in 2014 with her Debut Micro-Short Film "How A Man Gets Ready," recently wrapped production on her film "Boom": A whimscal short about ageism in Hollywood, starring Barbara Miluski and Caroline Ryburn, cinematography by Danna Kinsky.
Besides continuing to represent "The Visit" on the festival circuit and completing post-production on her current project, Schwedler is also working on the screenplay for her first feature film.
