On the heels of summer blockbuster season is the beginning the fall film festival season in North America. Robert Paschall Jr.’s SEGFAULT, one of the most unique films to premiere at Toronto International Film Festival 2017, is poised to make it’s mark on a widespread scale when hits theaters in major markets including including Los Angeles, Toronto, Chicago, Dallas, Vancouver, and Houston.

The unique indie thriller, written and directed by Paschall and starring Shannon Lucio (True Blood, American Horror Story, Prison Break), was made in less than 24 hours, with Lucio given no script, storyline or even a character name. In SEGFAULT, without any memory of who she is or her past, Blair (Lucio) wakes up in a hotel room with a dead body. After receiving a mysterious phone call, she flees in search of answers and is immediately pursued by a corrupt organization that is determined to keep the truth of her identity concealed. With the help of Victoria (Cassie Shea Watson) and Frank (Stephen Brodie), Blair is confronted with a sequence of startling discoveries that exposes a reality she never could've imagined.

“Shooting SEGFAULT was probably the most exhilarating and terrifying experience of my life,” Lucio said.  “I genuinely had no idea what to expect. So, there was virtually no way to prepare. Once we started filming, my body went into a fight or flight state. I didn’t really get tired even though we were filming through the night. I was just running on pure adrenaline. It’s funny because when I watch the film, I notice that at the beginning of it I keep crying, but that’s because I was truly scared and didn’t know what to do.”

Director Paschall said, “The precarious nature of making a film where the lead actress was blindfolded for wardrobe; not allowed to see her hair and makeup, and then dropped in a city she doesn’t know with no script, was both the hardest thing to do as a director and the most exciting thing to watch at the same time.”

As for the experience, Lucio says, “I had to put a lot of faith in my director, Bobby, and the other actors in the movie with me.  And, I guess, I had to put faith in myself.  I had to trust my instincts, my ability to improvise, and my storytelling experience to get through the process with any hope of a complete movie being at the finish line. But Bobby knew what he was doing and expertly conducted my journey so that I would end up where I needed to. It was a once in a lifetime experience.”

Factory Film Studio is the North American distributor for SEGFAULT. The film is set to premiere in the fall in many major cities across North America.
