Roopak Saluja, Co-Founder & Managing Director, Bang Bang Films and Jack in the Box Worldwide has been appointed to the Technique (TV/Cinema/Online Film) jury for the London International Awards. The Technique jury is headed by Jury President, Jake Scott, Director at RSA Films and includes such A list heavyweights as Fredrik Bond from Sonny London, Noam Murro of Biscuit Filmworks and Andy Morahan Believe UK and Bikini Films from the global commercials production fraternity.
Roopak comes from an agency background, having spent seven years between Y&R Budapest and Ogilvy Paris, where he last ran the Motorola account for Europe, Middle East & Africa on the account management side. Armed with an MBA from prestigious European business school, INSEAD, Roopak set up Bang Bang Films, India’s international production company, that is focused on producing TV commercials as its core business. Bang Bang works extensively with various global offices of agencies like Ogilvy, JWT, Saatchi, McCann Erickson, BBDO, BBH, Wieden & Kennedy, Lowe, Publicis, Y&R, Grey and more and counts the likes of Unilever, Nokia, Pepsi, L’Oreal, P&G, J&J, Sony, Volkswagen, Honda, Tata and among its major clients.
The setting up of Jack in the Box Worldwide in 2009 culminated in the evolution of Bang Bang into a provider of content-for-brands across multiple platforms and geographies. As, Co-Founder & Managing Director of the two companies, a large part of Roopak’s time and energy is currently focused on building capabilities and rolling out international operations for Bang Bang & Jack in the Box. He is also personally spearheading the creation of proprietary content for the group across multiple platforms including film, TV, online and mobile. His first love however is advertising so he manages to find the time to keep an eye on the creative product while having his finger on the pulse on the pulse of best in class work globally.
