Ron Perlman, John Landis, Cheryl Boone Isaacs, Alfre Woodard, Sarah Paulson, Lorraine Toussaint, Darby Stanchfield, Tony Revolori, Amy Landecker, Beau Garrett, Jillian Rose Reed and Jamie Brewer will be presenters at the Annual Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards (IATSE, Local 706), President Susan Cabral-Ebert announced today.
They will join a growing roster of actors who will honor make-up artists and hair stylists for their esteemed work in theatrical motion pictures, television, commercials and live theater. The black-tie ceremony will take place on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Paramount Studios Theatre.
As previously announced, actress Wendi McLendon-Covey will serve as host. Since her breakout performance in Bridesmaids, McLendon-Covey has appeared in a number of films, including What to Expect When You're Expecting, Tyler Perry’s The Single Moms Club, Blended and Think Like a Man Too. She was cast as a family matriarch in the acclaimed comedy series The Goldbergs, which won her a Critics' Choice Award nomination. She will appear in the upcoming feature films A White Trash Christmas, Claire’s Cambodia and Hello, My Name is Doris opposite Sally Field. In addition, she’ll be hosting the Ellen DeGeneres produced-comedy reality series Repeat After Me.
Golden Globe®-winner Ron Perlman will be presenting the Distinguished Artisan Award to his longtime friend and collaborator Guillermo Del Toro. Their collaboration began with Del Toro’s first feature film Cronos, followed by Hellboy, Hellboy II: The Golden Army, Blade II and Pacific Rim. Perlman is best known for his award-winning role as Vince in the television series Beauty and the Beast and as Clarence "Clay" Morrow in FX’s Sons of Anarchy. Most of Perlman’s roles have required extensive make-up and prosthetics. He’ll star in the upcoming films Robodog, Moonwalkers and Stonewall.
Acclaimed director John Landis will be presenting the Make-Up Artists Lifetime Achievement Award to Oscar®-winning make-up legend Rick Baker. The two first worked together on Landis’ first film Schlock, followed by An American Werewolf in London and Michael Jackson’s groundbreaking music video Thriller. Landis is best known for his feature film comedies National Lampoon's Animal House, The Blues Brothers and Trading Places. More recently, Landis has directed television episodes of Psych, Masters of Horror and Fear Itself.
Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) President Cheryl Boone Isaacs will be presenting the Hair Stylists Lifetime Achievement Award to Emmy® Award-winning hair stylist Kathryn Blondell. The two both serve on the AMPAS Board of Governors, with Blondell heading the Makeup Artists and Hairstylists Branch and Isaacs heading the Public Relations Branch. Cheryl is a public relations executive and the former head of publicity at Paramount Pictures. She also served as president of theatrical marketing for New Line Cinema.
Oscar-nominated actress Alfre Woodard currently stars in the NBC political drama State of Affairs, playing the first female President of the United States. Her illustrious work as an actor has earned her an Oscar nomination, four Emmy Awards, 17 Emmy nominations, three SAG® Awards and a Golden Globe. Woodard's four Emmys were won for her work on Hill Street Blues, L.A. Law, The Practice and Miss Evers' Boys, which also earned her a SAG Award and Golden Globe Award. Woodard's film work includes her Oscar-nominated performance in Cross Creek, Passion Fish, Crooklyn, The Forgotten, Down in the Delta, The Family That Preys and the Oscar-winning 12 Years a Slave. Woodard will star in the upcoming film Mississippi Grind.
Three-time Emmy nominee Sarah Paulson currently stars on American Horror Story: Freak Show, which is nominated for four MUAHS Awards. Paulson has earned two Emmy nominations for her role on the FX television series, a Golden Globe® nomination for her role on NBC comedy drama series Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her performance in the HBO movie Game Change. She’s starred in feature films such as What Women Want, Path to War, Down with Love, New Years Eve, Mud and 12 Years a Slave. Paulson stars in the upcoming films Carol and The Runner. She’s set to portray Marcia Clark in the upcoming FX miniseries American Crime Story.
SAG Award-winner Lorraine Toussaint currently stars in MUAHS nominees Selma, Orange is the New Black and ABC’s television drama Forever. Toussaint has starred in such feature films as Dangerous Minds, The Soloist and Middle of Nowhere. Her extensive television work includes Any Day Now, Crossing Jordan, Saving Grace, Law & Order, Ugly Betty, Friday Night Lights, Body of Proof and The Fosters.
Darby Stanchfield currently stars on the ABC political drama series Scandal. Prior to Scandal, she was best known for her role as Helen Bishop on Mad Men, which is nominated for two MUAHS Awards. Stanchfield’s television credits include NCIS, Castle, Jericho, and her film roles include the 2004 adaptation of Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray and Waitress. She will star in the upcoming film Medicine Men.
Tony Revolori is best known for his role as Zero Moustafa in The Grand Budapest Hotel, which is nominated for two MUAHS Awards. He will be seen in the upcoming Forest Whitaker-produced film Dope and The 5th Wave, starring Chloรซ Grace Moretz and Liev Schreiber.
Angie Harmon currently stars as Detective Jane Rizzoli on the TNT series Rizzoli & Isles. Harmon began her career as a runway model for Calvin Klein, Giorgio Armani and Donna Karan and appeared on the covers of ELLE, Cosmopolitan and Esquire. She has starred in television series such as Baywatch Nights, Baywatch, Law & Order and in films such as Lawn Dogs, Agent Cody Banks and End Game.
Amy Landecker currently stars as Sarah Pfefferman in Amazon Studios’ Transparent. She’s starred in such feature films as Enough Said, All is Bright and received critical acclaim for her role in The Coen Bros' film A Serious Man. Her television credits include Louie, Revenge, Curb Your Enthusiasm and The Paul Reiser Show. Landecker has appeared in a number of Off-Broadway theatrical productions, including Bug, which earned her an Obie Award. She’s currently developing Angry MILF, a half-hour series for FX, and will star in Michael Bay's upcoming film Welcome To Yesterday.
Jamie Brewer is best known for her role on all three seasons of American Horror Story, in which she made her television debut. She’s also starred on Southland and can be seen in the upcoming film My Next Breath.
Beau Garrett currently stars as Phoebe on Bravo’s Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce. Garrett began her career as a fashion model working on campaigns for GUESS, American Eagle Outfitters and Revlon. She has starred in television series such as Entourage, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, Glee, CSI: NY, Chuck and House. On the big screen, Garrett starred in Disney’s TRON: Legacy as Siren Gem, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Made of Honor, Freelancers, Unearthed and Turistas.
Jillian Rose Reed currently stars on MTV’s teen comedy series Awkward. She made her television debut on Nickelodeon's hit series, Zoey 101, and is most recognized for her role as Simone on Showtime's Weeds. Her TV guest appearances include The Middle and Community.
