Says Robot Executive Producer Rosanne Cunningham, “Robot is excited to welcome new director Adam Jay Weissman. Like our other directors, he is a trendsetter in youth culture. Adam has a great aesthetic, and a sense of humor that makes a great addition to our current roster.” Notes Weissman, “I enjoy creating spots that don’t feel like commercials. Taking the viewer out of that traditional mindset, making them laugh and giving them something memorable, they don’t feel like they’re watching an advertisement.”
Born and raised in the Los Angeles area, Weissman studied film at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA and began working in the fashion industry, helping market and design major fashion campaigns. He has spent the past 10 years at the forefront of the street-culture and street fashion, art directing and curating for Fashion powerhouse Stussy. Also an experienced musician, Weissman is a founding member of the Los Angeles indie rock band Pollyn, who have received acclaim in the Los Angeles Times, UK’s Dazed and Confused, Australia’s Acclaim Magazine and Urb Magazine, to name a few. Pollyn has also remixed animated supergroup Gorillaz, NYC Post Punk legends Liquid Liquid as well as Health, Death from Above 1971 and Buffalo Daughter. His extensive music experience ties into his directorial style through intricate sound design and rhythmic editing.
