Rhythm + Hues Commercial Studios shot its way through summer 2011 with a package for Mattel Hot Wheels, a spot for Carrabba’s Italian Grill, and a shoot in New Orleans.
R+H director James Wahlberg shot the group of seven Hot Wheels commercials that showcases the latest full throttle, action-packed line up from the preeminent maker of toy cars and play sets. The campaign from Y&R Brands runs the gamut from more traditional race sets to color-changing cars to a new high tech entry for computer savvy kiddies. The variety gave Wahlberg and his top notch Vancouver crew a chance to use all the tools in their toolbox and have a bit of early summer fun.
Director Chace Strickland partnered with R+H in July for Carrabba’s Italian Grill. Shot on location at one of the chain restaurant’s stores in Florida, the spot allowed Strickland to put his people skills to use capturing the chefs, patrons and delicious personality of the pasta-friendly brand via creative out of MMB in Boston. The overnight shoot went off without a hitch and gave everyone a chance to catch up on some sleep the next day in the warm (albeit muggy) Florida sunshine.
A few states away R+H director Joe Murray recently spent time shooting in steamy, production-busy New Orleans for Grey advertising. The two-day location shoot brought Joeโan avid Jazz Fest fanโback to the city for his second visit this year.
All of these R+H summer spots are slated to begin airing this fall.
