The Hollywood Professional Association (HPA®) has opened registration for its 2016 Tech Retreat ®. The Retreat, now in its 22nd year, attracts a world-class roster of engineering, technology, creativity and business leaders who gather in the desert over the course of a week to confer on the trends and technologies of the future, while tackling the issues of the present from fresh perspectives. The event will take place at the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells, near Palm Springs, CA, from February 15th to the 19th, 2016.
The HPA's preeminent event is a conference and a collaborative think tank with high-level delegate networking, in an engaging and often inspiring environment for attendees. The Tech Retreat is an essential gathering for the discussion of technological developments in production, post production, distribution, and archiving for motion pictures, television, commercials and other media content, with attendees coming from the media and entertainment industries, academia, science, and technology from a variety of disciplines across the globe. This year the Demo Room is transformed into the Innovation Zone, highlighting the latest in workflow demonstrations.
2016 Tech Retreat programming is led by industry veteran Mark Schubin, who notes, "We attract a far ranging and fascinating array of submissions, and we receive more every year. As ever, it will be a challenge to choose among what has been submitted, as the topics are incredibly compelling and some of them are previously unseen. It's difficult to count the many new technologies that have made their first appearance at the Tech Retreat, and this year will be no different."
A must for industry professionals, the five day, multifaceted event includes dynamic conference sessions, daily breakfast roundtables where thought leaders guide discussion, and a re-imagined Innovation Zone (formerly the Demo Room), where the latest products, workflows and technologies are available for examination in a highly curated environment. There are also numerous networking opportunities throughout, including cocktail and lunch events where attendees and speakers meet and converse.
Leon Silverman, President of HPA, comments, "If you have ever been to the Tech Retreat, then you know. This is the ONE event you must attend to stay connected to the industry's most important topics and people. If you have not attended, then you need to know there is nothing like it – sun up to sun down full tech immersion and connection to the most important topics and people in the industry."
The event perennially sells out, so timely registration for the 2016 HPA Tech Retreat is recommended. Registration at Early Bird rates is now available at hpaonline.com. The session schedule and programming information will be announced soon.
