Proof Inc., one of the film industry’s leading visualization houses, has provided Previs services to Universal Pictures’ “Fast & Furious 6,” which was released May 24, 2013, it was announced today. According to Proof Creative Director/Founder Ron Frankel, Proof provided previsualization for six sequences of “Fast & Furious 6,” which involved the creation of 40 minutes of original animation. Proof also provided post-vis services for the film, and it produced 200 visual effects shots.
Original Film’s Neal H. Moritz, Producer, “Fast & Furious 6,” said, “The ‘Fast & Furious’ films are all about extreme action with real cars and real cameras. I’m a big believer in Previs. It’s the best way to develop the intense action that our fans expect long before anyone even shows up on set. We’ve been working with Alex Vegh and the team at Proof for years and they really have the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise dialed in.”
Proof’s Previs Supervisor Alex Vegh, who has been the Previs Supervisor for the
second through the sixth entries of the “Fast & Furious” franchise, adds, “We were involved very early on this film with director Justin Lin in the development process, and stayed on until the end of the picture. I had the opportunity to work with Justin on developing the ideas for the action sequences and to create the action beats. We then animated the shots and designed the sequences in Previs. I took the Previs with me on set and had the chance to supervise some splinter unit scenes, which was very interesting and a lot of fun. Due to the escalated level and quick pace of the production of this film, I concurrently worked with teams on both Previs and Postvis. This was the first film where we used an all British crew in London – 20 people – as well as a team based in Los Angeles. I even traveled with the production when they went on location to the Canary Islands!”

“Ǝvolution” Comes Full Circle At The Chelsea Film Festival
The Chelsea Film Festival, running from October 16th through October 20th, 2024, at Regal Cinemas here in Union Square, is set to host the East Coast premiere of Ǝvolution, a thought-provoking experimental micro-short film that proves big ideas can come in small packages and in perfect circles.
In just 1 minute 16 seconds, this cinematic gem by Award-Winning Director Romina Schwedler, with original music by Argentine Composer Ignacio Montoya Carlotto, explores a cycle as old as time: life leads to progress, progress leads to destruction, and destruction, well, leads back to life. But is this vicious circle unbreakable? Ǝvolution suggests the answer is yes, unless we decide to open our eyes.
Inspired by the overwhelming number of recent events that threaten human existence, Ǝvolution, possibly the shortest film in this 12th edition of the festival, plays out entirely through the symbolism of circles, cleverly illustrating —in the blink of an eye— the repeating patterns of history, and confronting viewers with the uncomfortable truth that our so-called “progress” may, in fact, be guiding us to our own ruin.Premiering at the Regal 14 Union Square, New York City, on October 18, 2024, at 11 a.m., Romina Schwedler's micro-short, featuring Leah Young with cinematography by Alan J. Carmona, will be sure to spark conversations longer than the film itself! Forcing viewers to reconsider the true meaning of evolution, not just as a biological process, but as a reflection of our collective journey as humans.
With a string of festival appearances across the globe, including CineGlobe at CERN (Switzerland/France), Oscar®... Read More
