Every year, the PromaxBDA Europe Awards congratulates an individual with the Industry Achievement Award. This year the award – celebrating inspiration, tremendous influence, ongoing integrity and passion for the industry – will be presented to Jaume Roures during the ceremony on March 27th at the Hotel Arts, Barcelona.
A native of Barcelona, Jaume Roures is a leader and entrepreneur in Spanish media. Roures played an integral part in the foundation and development of TelevisiĂł de Catalunya (TV3) and was also in charge of special operations at FORTA (FederaciĂłn de Organismos de Radio y TelevisiĂłn AutonĂłmicas) and head of the TV Department at Dorna. Most recently, Roures produced ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’, shot in Catalonia and ‘You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger’ both directed by Woody Allen as part of a four-film partnership deal signed with the North-American film-maker. The third movie, “Midnight in Paris”, has been recently rewarded with an Oscar.
In the world of cinema, he has produced some of Spain’s most successful films and documentaries of recent times. These include: ‘Mondays in the Sun’ and ‘Princesas’ by Fernando LeĂłn de Aranoa, ‘La Espalda del Mundo’ by Javier Corcuera and ‘Salvador (Puig Antich)’ by Manuel Huerga. The films are united in their notable social conscience defending values such as tolerance and solidarity.
Roures will be honored during the PromaxBDA Europe Awards Show dinner where winners will be announced at the end of the two-day conference. Bibiana Ballbé Serra, well-known television presenter and journalist from TV3 Television de Catalunya, will host the Awards Gala.
Both days of the conference are filled with thought provoking sessions such as ‘Leaders in Design’, ‘The Masters of Social Media’, ‘YouTube, The Next Generation’, ‘Taboo Futures – Your Next Creative Revolution’, and initiate an immersion into trends and topics essential to the television marketing community.
