VideoHelper, a Manhattan-based production music company known for its highly-targeted, promo-centric music/sound design libraries, launches COLOSSICAL, a concept-driven library of classical music uniquely formatted for ads, promos and movie trailers.nn”We think that’s the best part,” said company President and co-founder Joseph Saba. “What? Oh – wait. I’m a couple of paragraphs too early. Dammit.”nnBreaking from the traditional arrangements of the classic masterpieces, COLOSSICAL immediately highlights the iconic melodies and themes that make them instantly recognizable. Consistent with VideoHelper‘s signature attention to editability, every cut is designed to offer loopable sections, modular hit points, multiple climaxes and paste-able endings to allow a high level of customization.nnColossical is split into two collections:nn1. ORCHESTRAL INTENSIFICATIONS presents each piece as a cinematic, over-the-top, larger-than-life, hyper-dynamic orchestral movie trailer, with performances from members of the Czech Republic’s Capellan Orchestra. To offer more storytelling options, each track also offers multiple melodic variations as well as variations in mood and tonality.nn2. HYBRIDIZED REIMAGININGS remixes the orchestral versions and reinterprets them. From a horror-movie version of Dance of the Hours, to a 70’s Blaxploitation themed Chopin’s Funeral March, every piece explores radically different genres and emotional directions that range from dark, to humorous, to bat-shit crazy.nn
