Pongo, a multi-award winning creative marketing agency for entertainment industry clients currently celebrating its 25th anniversary, has named Ron Pomerantz its new Vice President, Content & Strategy. Pomerantz joins Pongo from Disney Channel, where he had been Vice President, Marketing & Creative. Pongo executives Tom McGough, Founder/CEO, and Cary Sachs, Chief Marketing Officer and Senior VP, made the announcement.
In his new position, Pomerantz will be spearheading the new creative content division for Pongo, responsible for developing strategic content for entertainment and retail brands. The new unit will develop and produce interstitial content, PSAs, commercials and B-to-B integration as Pongo expands its current client offering to charitable and philanthropic arms.
During his years at Disney Channel, The Emmy Award winning Pomerantz was responsible for the marketing and creative of the network, leading strategy and creative direction for all on-air and off-air media programs. During his tenure, he led the network to its first ever #1 cable TV kids ranking, which has held for six years. While at Disney, he also held the title of Vice President Creative of Disney Channel and Disney Junior, overseeing the launch of Disney Junior in 2011.

Before joining Disney, Pomerantz served as Executive Creative Director at SOAPnet, responsible for all on-air marketing and brand identity. He received the first of his career's five Emmy Award nominations for the main title of Soap Talk. Leading the channel's successful 2002 re-launch, he received 19 Promax/BDA Awards, the CTAM Mark Award, and the prestigious CTPAA Beacon Award for Pro-Social Content.
Earlier, Pomerantz served as Executive Vice President, Taffet Design, where he created multiple award-winning brand strategy and marketing campaigns for television and film clients. Before that post, he was Vice President/Creative Director for TV Guide Networks, where he co-developed the patent for the TV Guide IPG scroll, created new content strategies, and initiated the blueprint for its future footprint on Hollywood Blvd. Pomerantz also served for three seasons as Director at Fox Broadcasting, where he was responsible for re-launching the brand, on-air look, and format for the 2007 season and its affiliates.
A native of New Jersey, Pomerantz earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Sociology from Skidmore College . A sought out speaker and an esteemed member of multiple professional organizations, he currently resides in Los Angeles .
