Associate Creative Directors Matthew Bottkol and Todd Eisner from Dentsu NY called on www.twistfilm.com.>Twist Director Chris Stocksmith, well-known for his storytelling and documentary-style of shooting, for an unusual local community effort. The talented trio has gotten behind a new documentary project called “Pong 4 Teeth” for Brooklyn-based Bartender Jamie Mandel. It’s become a real passion project for all of us.”nnArt Director Todd Eisner, a talented illustrator, designed posters for the event, and collaborated with Bottkol and Stocksmith on the two teaser videos. He also called on friends like Designer John Fayard, Senior Producer Vera Kacurova, and contacts at Nylon music and animation house, The Studio; both companies have agreed to donate creative services for the final documentary film. “It’s been great to see people sign on to help,” adds Todd. “As creatives working in advertising, we all have our personal projects. This is a concrete way for creative people here in New York to give back.”nnStocksmith, who is currently working out logistics for shooting the 15-hour event on Saturday, agrees: “We hope that together, we can help Jamie reach his goal of $35K. Anything above that will be donated to charity. He has been so great to work with and interview, and grateful for everyone’s help.” During the shoot, it was Stocksmith’s idea for the Celebrity Challenge to Susan Sarandon, in what he points out is a tongue-and-cheek tone to the promotional campaign. “Next year, I told Jamie, he should play for 16 hoursโฆ.”nnShould the 2011 premiere “Pong 4 Teeth” event raise above the $35K needed for Jamie’s new set of teeth, any additional funds will be donated to local non-profit organization Project U.S.E. (www.projectuse.org), which provides unparalleled experiential learning opportunities to more than 7,000 young people and adults each year. Some of this year’s Project U.S.E. kids are scheduled to play at the Ping-Pong Tournament on April 30th.nnCreditsnClient: Jamie Mandel, Bartender/StudentnnDentsu NY Ad Agency Creatives: nACD/Copywriter: Matthew BottkolnACD/Art Director: Todd EisnernnProduction Company: www.twistfilm.com.>Twist/New York & MinneapolisnDirector/Editor: Chris StocksmithnPresident/Executive Producer: Jim GeibnExecutive Producer: Amyliz PeranStaff Reps: Kathryn Lotis, Rob NeillnnAbout Director Chris StocksmithnDirector Chris Stocksmith’s focus is on storytelling and creating content for online and new media, with the emerging area of 3D one of his specialties. The Light and BIEN Form Creative & Strategic Alliance
Production company The Light and motion design studio BIEN have forged a strategic alliance that nurtures inclusivity and sustainability throughout the life cycle of every project.
The Light Founder/CEO Becky Morrison and BIEN Co-Founder Ricardo Roberts were first introduced by a mutual client who recognized their parallel ethos. Both Morrison and Roberts are advocates for industry change, and have built successful companies that demonstrate the benefits of human-centered and sustainable production in live action and motion design, respectively.
โI admire the thoughtfulness, specificity, and artistry with which BIEN produces animation and design and their attention to representing the full spectrum of humanity,โ notes Morrison. โTheir work behind the scenes to foster a diverse creative community is equally impressive. It feels like the perfect moment to partner with another mission-driven company who cares so deeply about creative excellence and social change.โ
โI immediately hit it off with Becky and love that she has so many ideas that are tactical, scalable and make a powerful difference,โ adds Roberts. โShe challenges the status quo while producing beautiful, world-class content. With this partnership, we can better serve our clients and carry our mission forward together.โ
