Today’s news follows on the heels of the company’s recent relocation and expansion of its Bethesda, MD, headquarters. Concurrently, Nick Jernigan has been named Visual Effects Supervisor of the company’s newly expanded Manhattan office.
The Pixeldust office in Manhattan consists of a large office space in the heart of SoHo. In addition to Jernigan, the office, which includes five digital artists and producers, has the capacity to expand personnel, based on individual project requirements. Recently, Pixeldust Studios provided digital animations and motion graphics for several high profile TV series, including the seven hour HD National Geographic Channel mini-series “Great Migrations” as well as “American Loggers” and “Powering the Future” for the Discovery Channel; “Hoarding: Buried Alive” and “DC Cupcakes” for TLC; and “Modern Marvels” for the History Channel.
About NICHOLAS JERNIGAN
A native of Maryland, Pixeldust Studios’ Visual Effects Supervisor Nick Jernigan attended American University in Washington, DC, where he majored in Visual Media with a concentration in Film through the School of Communications (SOC).
Jernigan was employed by National Geographic Television for four years, working his way up to the position of Senior Visual Effects Artist. While there, he was nominated for four Emmy Awards for his work on behalf of National Geographic Television, and, in 2005, he won an Emmy Award for “Outstanding Individual Achievement in a Craft: Graphic and Artistic Design” for the TV program “Predators at War.”
Since spearheading Pixeldust Studio’s operations in New York City as the company’s Visual Effects Supervisor, Jernigan has received an Emmy Award nomination for Discovery’s TV program “Apocalypse How?” The Pixeldust New York office has also contributed imagery to Discovery’s “Wrath of God,” “Powering the Future” and “Monsters and Mysteries in Alaska,” National Geographic Television’s “Mega Tsunami,” “American Serengeti” and “Hooked,” History Channel’s “Mystery Quest” and “Alaska,” PBS’s What Darwin Never Knew,” Discovery Health Channel’s “Mystery Diagnosis,” TLC’s “D.C. Cupcakes,” and NHNZ’s “Man Made Marvels.”
