PipelineFX, makers of Qube!โข – the leading render farm management software for digital media creation announced today the release of Qube! verison 6.1 which continues the vision of "smart farming" announced at Siggraph with the release of version 6.0. Some of the highlights of this release are:
Output Image Thumbnails
Artists can now monitor their renders graphically with image output thumbnails in the GUI. Thumbnails are useful for seeing render issues at a glance. A typical use case would be rendering four layers per frame. Artists can then "scrub" up and down to see the image render progression at a glance.
Dynamically Loaded Menus
Technical Directors and artists can now modify any and all menus in the Qube! GUI or submission plug-ins dynamically, allowing on the fly customization and rapid integration into existing pipelines. These changes are then automatically loaded into future releases, with no need to merge menu changes into the latest release of the QubeGUI code.
Graphical Dependencies
Artists and render wranglers can now easily monitor and manage complex work lists or sets of inter-dependent jobs graphically. Jobs or individual frames are color-coded by status, making it simple to track the progress of your entire work list, or detect why a particular frame has not started yet. All possible job and frame control operations are available through right-click menus from this view.
In-Application Houdini Submission
For artists working with Houdini, job submission just became even easier. The new in-application submission interface enables the artist to submit a render to the farm with a single mouse click. The frame range and path to the Houdini project file are automatically filled in.
