A new TV spot “Couch Confessions” produced by Persona Films for Ritani, an engagement ring brand, spins a double entendre into something bigger.nnThe tone of “Couch Confessions” stands out from the typical engagement ring campaign that features corny slogans and sappy scenarios. The commercial is targeted at men and is trying to show that Ritani not only knows how stressful a proposal can be but appreciates men for going through the tough process of choosing an engagement ring.nnProduction, done by Persona Films, and post production, done by Twitch Post, took place in May 2011 in New York City. All characters were shot on the same sofa, with a variety of covers and cushions in front of a green screen. Later, during post-production, unique settings were composited into the background for each person. Actors were asked to ad-lib their proposal story, and a lot of material never made it into the final cut due to its X-rated nature. In the end, what came out is a playful, suggestive piece sure to put a smile on your face.nnnnCreditsnClient: RitaninAd Agency: GluttonynProduction Company: Persona FilmsnPost-Production Company: Twitch PostnDirector: Abigail HonornDirector of Photography: Yan VizinbergnProducer: Marissa PricenEditor: Bruce ChiltonnPost-Production Supervisor: Chris CoopernPost-Production Coordinator: Lauren ConoscentinVFX Artist: Bruce ChiltonnnProduction: Shot on RED One Mysterium-X (4K)nnPost-Production: Final Cut Studio 3; REDCINE-X; Red Rocket; Adobe After Effects; Fiber Connected G-SPEED FC XL; 12-core Mac ProsnnAbout PERSONA FILMSnPersona Films is a New York-based film and commercial production company formed in 2001 by Abigail Honor and Yan Vizinberg. Goldcrest Post Speeds Delivery of “Severance” Season Two
The New York Times recently wrote that the just-released Season Two of Severance will “blow your mind”—and we couldn’t agree more. Created by Dan Erickson and Ben Stiller, the Apple TV+ drama is smart, spellbinding, distinctly original and packed with surprises. For those who aren’t already devoted fans, the show centers on Mark Scout (Adam Scott), leader of a team at Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a “severance” procedure that surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. Goldcrest Post provided post services for both seasons of the show, including picture editorial support, sound editorial, ADR and sound mixing. Editorial for Season One began in 2020. Due to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, Goldcrest supplied both onsite production offices and edit suites, and remote editing systems for individual editors, with everything linked to a central server. "Mixing at Goldcrest with our team has been a great experience,” says Stiller. “Bob and Jacob are in sync with our creative process and so good at what they do that the experience is always one where it's about how we can enhance the creative vision, with a baseline of knowing everyone is totally committed to making something as good as it can be." Diana Dekajlo, the show’s co-producer, says that the arrangement worked so well, they chose to continue the hybrid approach for Season Two. “We’re a remote friendly show,” she explains. “Whether we’re at Goldcrest, our studio in the Bronx or at home, our workflow is seamless. I conduct remote daily meetings with my immediate staff, and weekly meetings with editorial and VFX, and we talk to each other as if we were just down the hall. It makes for great staff... Read More
