Hollywood post facility Light Iron announces that Paul Geffre has returned to its team, joining fellow post producers Des Carey and Katie Fellion. Geffre will lead the company’s efforts to grow their episodic television department. Paul comes to Light Iron from Stereo D (Deluxe 3D) where he was a Stereoscopic Producer. While at Stereo D he successfully led the stereoscopic 3D conversion for multiple studio features including “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”, “Thor” and “The Green Hornet.”
Geffre has had a prolific career in the entertainment industry, beginning first in finance after graduating from UC Davis with a degree in economics and a minor in theater. He co-founded Theater Alchemy, a Sacramento-based theater company, and eventually moved to the Los Angeles area to pursue a career in acting. “I quickly learned that there was a lot more to the filmmaking process I liked,” said Geffre. He started his own production company, SoMad Pictures, whose credits include “Mad About Money”, a syndicated TV series, and the feature film “No Saints for Sinners.” In addition, he produced content including “Origins” for The Science Channel, “LA Street Kings” and “The Heavy Show” under other production banners.
In 2004 he met Michael Cioni when he was a story producer/post production supervisor on the documentary reality series “The Team” for the Nickelodeon Network. Later, they worked together at a post facility until they co-founded Light Iron in 2009. “I am very happy and excited to be re-joining the team at Light Iron. It’s rare that you get to start something, spend some time away, and then return; I’m grateful for the opportunity. What Michael and the team have done over the past two years is incredible, and I look forward to continuing that progress.”
Geffre’s post production credits include “S.Darko”, “I’m No Dummy”, “The Deported”, “Street Kings: Motor City”, “I’m Not Like That No More” and Warner Bros.’ “The Story of DC Comics”. Currently he is working on “Timescapes,” a digital time-lapse film, and a video series for photographers Inez Van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin.
