Leading post-production and production house Optimus today announced the launch of its ShelterBox spot, which is based on the winning script from the second annual Optimus “One Shot” contest. Cramer-Krasselt/Chicago Copywriter Andrei Chahine and Art Director Ryan Stotts developed the script based on a contest brief for ShelterBox, a non-profit organization that provides emergency aid for survivors of natural disasters anywhere in the world.
As winners of the contest, Chahine and Stotts were awarded with a spot that was fully produced, finished and aired by Optimus and its production arm ONE at Optimus. Directed by Mehdi Zollo of ONE at Optimus and edited by Katherine Pryor of Optimus, the ShelterBox spot begins airing on Comcast on Jan. 25.

The impact this will have for disaster survivors around the world is immeasurable.”
With their brand communications partner Scott & Victor, Optimus developed this year’s brief for ShelterBox because the organization helps people most in need around the globe. The charity’s solution to disasters is the ShelterBox โ a tough, green plastic box containing a 10-person tent and ancillary equipment designed to enable a family of up to 10 people to survive for at least six months. Since its inception in 2001, ShelterBox has assisted more than 800,000 people and operated in more than 60 countries โ responding to earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, tsunamis, wars, volcanoes, etc.
“When we found out about ShelterBox, we knew we wanted to do something to help get the word out about their amazing mission,” said Optimus President Tom Duff. “We thought the ‘One Shot’ contest was a perfect way to get creative ideas for a spot. We received some fantastic entries, but the script by Andrei and Ryan had a unique, powerful and well crafted message that stood out among the others. We’re thrilled with the finished spot.
