Leading post-production and production house Optimus today announced with Hoffman York the launch of a new spot, “Transforming,” for the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago (MSI). The spot โ created by Hoffman York VP and Creative Director Tony Bonilla and Creative Director/Copywriter Eric Oken, directed by Optimus Creative Director Mike Ciacciarelli and Design Director Donnie Bauer, edited by Bauer and produced by Optimus Senior Producer Brian Hrastar and ONE at Optimus EP/Managing Director John Noble โ launched locally on NBC during the opening ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympics on February 12.
“The Museum of Science and Industry is undergoing a transformation, and nearly 90% of the Museum’s exhibit space will be brand new or completely refreshed upon completion,” says Bonilla. “This was not business as usual, which was a big reason the Museum decided to do a television spot for the first time in many years. With the spot, we’re taking the opportunity to change perceptions about MSI and encourage even more people to experience it.”
“Transforming” invites viewers to come and visit the Museum to explore old favorites, discover new one-of-a-kind exhibits and interact with science. The spot’s main theme focuses on showcasing how the Museum provides transformative experiences for its guests and concludes by peaking the viewer’s interest with the question of “How will we transform you?”
“Transforming” also supports the rebranding of MSI with a teaser for the upcoming “Science Storms” exhibit, which opens March 18, 2010.
“We focused on creating a fun, fresh spot that conveyed the energy and enthusiasm surrounding the changes happening at MSI,” comments Ciacciarelli. “We hope the spot will encourage viewers to visit the Museum and experience first-hand the new exhibits and programming.”
