Leading post-production and production house Optimus today announced with DDB Chicago the development of a series of videos showcased on the new website, www.yourged.org. The videos were created by DDB Chicago and directed and edited by Katie Wrobel for ONE at Optimus/Optimus to support the campaign funded by Dollar General Literary Foundation and the Ad Council to help people who were unable to finish high school prepare for their GED® Exams.
“I was thrilled to work with DDB Chicago’s Alex Zamiar, Jonathan Richman and Matt Green on this project.” said Wrobel. “Listening to people talk about why they left high school and why they were now working so hard to get their GED Diploma was about the most inspiring way I’ve spent the day in a long time. These people completely overturned the stereotype of the ‘high school dropout.'”
As far as the production went, Wrobel wanted to make sure people felt comfortable, so it was important to keep the crew and equipment to a minimum. Added Wrobel: “We shot with the Canon 7D, which is small enough so it’s not intimidating, but it’s powerful enough to produce a gorgeous image without having to go crazy with lighting. And, the crew could not have been better. They were endlessly creative through every minute of a couple of very busy days, and it shows.”
The Your GED work includes an overview video, six videos highlighting the steps to securing your GED diploma, and two short biographical videos. The site offers visitors information on finding a GED prep center and registering for classes. It also provides information on how to ensure success in earning a GED diploma.
“The Your GED videos are another great example of the Optimus and ONE at Optimus teams working together from directing through post to deliver great work to our clients,” said Optimus President Tom Duff. “On this and every project, we are committed to giving all we’ve got and not stopping until everybody is happy.”
