Oishii Creative recently collaborated with E! Entertainment to develop the main titles, logo and in-show graphics for the “E! Entertainment Special: Tim Tebow’s Wild Rise,” a 30-minute special highlighting the meteoric rise of NFL quarterback Tim Tebow.nnThe show focuses on the lightning-in-a-bottle phenomenon that is Tim Tebow, the New York Jets quarterback who was a star athlete at the University of Florida and 2007 Heisman Trophy winner โ and why he has dramatically risen to become one of the most popular celebrities in the world. The main titles capture this exciting energy through fast-moving type, graphics and images of Tebow interspersed with pops of red and orange.nnnClick here to view Tim Tebow’s Wild Rise Graphics Package online.nn”Working with Oishii Creative on ‘Tim Tebow’s Wild Rise’ was a fantastic experience,” says Carey Zeiser, Supervising Producer at E! Entertainment. “They brought a high level of creative integrity to the project and were able to work within our parameters while still thinking outside the box. What they executed creatively was matched with a strong sense of professionalism on the business side. They hit every deadline, came in on budget and managed every step of the process skillfully and efficiently.”nnFor Oishii, the challenge was telling the complex story of a cultural icon in seven seconds that was framed within the look and feel of E!. President/Creative Director Ismael Obregon and his team worked closely with the network to find a specific tone and voice for the open.nn”The seven-second time sequence meant the piece had to be very brisk, but not frantic,” Obregon says. “We ultimately chose to take different points in the story-building aspect of the open and rhythmically cut them in a fast-paced manner without losing the context of what the viewer is seeing.”nnIt was also important that culture โ and not sports โ guided the strategy for the creative since the story focuses on Tebow’s rise to super stardom. For Oishii, the project was an opportunity to harness its multidisciplinary capabilities and knowledge of sports and pop culture.n n”This project tapped into things we love: culture, style and design,” Obregon concludes. “These three elements allowed us to truly innovate and enjoy the process. The client had a strong vision of who and what they want to be, giving us a clear path for finding the right visual solution for the open. Working with creative collaborative partners like E! was exactly what we look for in projects; it’s what really excites us at Oishii Creative.” nnCreditsnProject: Tim Tebow’s Wild Rise Graphics Package (Logo, Main Title and In-Show Graphics)nAirdate: July 2, 2012n nClient: NBCUniversal / E! Who Needs Los Angeles? We Do.
One doesn't have to be a statistician to know that there are fewer commercials being shot in the U.S. today for the American market than ever before, and a dramatic decrease in L.A. in particular. In the last five years, as reported by FilmLA (the office tasked with issuing permits), L.A. commercial production has dipped 31 percent. But hereโs the thing: This doesnโt mean that L.A. has lost its importance as the production center of the world. Production in L.A. is vital. It is the go-to. Itโs where you can count on access to exemplary crews, a support infrastructure second to none, varied location and backlot options, a large population of on-screen talent and (fairly) predictable weather. The fact is, with overall decline and now the devastation of the fires, weโre on the brink of losing this mainstay resource. Without employment opportunities and now many without homes, talented and trained crew are bound to leave either the industry or the LA area for other opportunities, unless there are enough job opportunities to sustainย a solid living. Now is the time when we ALL must support and bolster this community. Production is needed in L.A., now! Of course, advertising is a business, and marketersโ money should be spent as efficiently as possible, BUT we have to think beyond each production and know that if we lose the incredible resource of L.A. production as we know it, then marketers, agencies and the industry loses in the long run. Over the past several days, some agencies have issued directives to production companies that are unilaterally pushing upcoming production options out of L.A. The fact is L.A. is a large area, and many sections of the city and county are not directly impacted... Read More
