To promote the syndication of the hit comedy series “The Middle”, The WB has turned to Oink Ink, the radio creative boutique, for its launch campaign. Rather than going the traditional promo route, relying on pre-existing show clips, Oink creative director Jim Price and the staff of Oink Ink‘s LA office arranged for an exclusive on-set record of the stars of the show, including actors Patricia Heaton and Neil Flynn. These effort yielded a pair of unique and humorous spots that highlight the show’s new home on The WB.
Riding on the wave of winning big yet again at this year’s Promax awards, Oink Ink was commissioned by National Geographic Channel to write, direct and produce a season premiere promo for the network’s highest rated show, “Doomsday Preppers”. Now gearing up for its 3rd season, the show is about everyday people preparing for the end of the world as they know it. Preppers develop extreme doomsday survival machines, high-tech shelters and escape routes, all ready for Armageddon. Oink Ink‘s New York office created a spot that works humorously for radio, featuring Jeremy Schwartz as the main VO personality urgently warning listeners of various types of impending doom and the elaborate ways in which to survive them. This is a reunion for Oink Ink and Nat Geo since they have worked together on the Promax-winning spot for the network’s show, “Locked Up Abroad”.
Launch work continues, too, for Oink Ink client NBC, as they once again turned to Oink‘s full creative and production talents for their new fall line up which includes “The Million Second Quiz” hosted by Ryan Seacrest, billed the biggest game show in television history. Also in the repertoire was the highly anticipated “The Michael J Fox Show” starring Michael J Fox playing a version of himself dealing with his Parkinsons disease. Oink Ink was also charged with producing serious for new crime drama “Ironside” and “The Blacklist” which was a big success at Comic Con and is now the number one new drama this fall. Oink also created ads promoting NBC’s Thursday night line up which includes “Sean Saves the World”. Last year Oink‘s work for NBC practically swept the Promax awards, as they won three statues in the all-important Entertainment categories.
