NEW YORK and LOS ANGELES -- (SPW) -- Since launching Thornberg & Forester (T&F) in 2007, founders Elizabeth Kiehner, Scott Matz and Justin Meredith have focused on bringing core values like human rights to the forefront while delivering brilliant work for major cultural events, networks, brands and agencies. Over the past 12 months alone, T&F's meticulously designed cinematic original artistic content has helped raise funds for scores of major nonprofits and financial institutions, promote humanitarian awards programs, attract and build viewership, fortify global brands, and even confront immense problems like human sex trafficking and sustainable energy.
Here is the 2013 T&F Top Ten.
#1: We produced the Economic Machine short film: Running over 30 minutes in length, this thoughtful animated film is T&F's most ambitious project to-date.
#2: We expanded T&F Los Angeles: Justin Meredith is now in LA leading the company's Culver City studio.
#3: Elizabeth hit the speaking circuit: In January, Elizabeth Kiehner was a featured presenter at the annual CES event in Las Vegas, and since then, she presented at the Styleframes NYC Conference, SXSW in Austin, the New York Media Summit, Digital Hollywood and the PromaxBDA Conference in LA, and the Motion Conference in Albuquerque, to name but a few.
#4: We signed new directors: "We were very fortunate this year to bring-in some major new talents, including creative director/designer Michael Darmanin and the directing team of Santa Maria," Justin said. "Everyone has really clicked, and the challenges we're facing together are really bringing out the best in us all."
#5: We promoted Kyle Miller and Kyle Hurley to directors: "The Kyles have become seasoned and fearless leaders,” said Scott Matz. "Their steadfast passion, dedication and understanding of how and why T&F works made this promotion an easy decision for us."
#6: We hit the James Franco Roast: T&F created a sensational title sequence for Comedy Central's Roast of James Franco. Scott and Justin were invited to be part of the live studio audience at the taping of the show in LA, and word is, it was really awesome.
#7: We created massive campaigns for Charles Schwab and Charter: T&F's award-winning Charles Schwab campaign for Havas Worldwide has been running for over a year. The firm also designed, directed, produced and just delivered a 30-spot, bilingual, live-action/VFX campaign for Wilson RMS and Charter.
#8: We directed tabletop shoots for Friendly's and Sam Adams: The assignment for Friendly's came from Allen & Gerritsen earlier this year, and T&F just wrapped production on the Sam Adams shoot for Brooklyn Brothers.
#9: We helped "I Am Malala" author Malala Yousafzai establish and begin building The Malala Fund: This year, the T&F founders' direct involvement with some of the world's foremost human rights leaders introduced them to this amazing young woman, and great strides are now being made on many fronts.
#10: Scott and Justin were named jurors for prestigious competitions: A former ADC Young Gun himself, Justin was selected as a juror for this year's Young Guns 11 competition, while Scott was chosen this year as one of three jurors for the American Illustration and American Photography's second annual International Motion Art Awards.
"These are just some of many amazing facets of 2013 for us, and we consider ourselves very fortunate to work alongside so many people who are making the world a better place," Elizabeth added. "We continue to strive for quality, integrity and innovation, which isn't always easy; fortunately, our successes this year are making it clear that we are on the right track."
