Nonfiction Unlimited, a commercial production company exclusively representing documentary filmmakers for advertising projects, is proud to announce that documentaries from two of the filmmakers on Nonfiction’s roster, Ondi Timoner‘s WE LIVE IN PUBLIC and Jessica Yu‘s KINDA SUTRA, and have been selected to screen at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival.
Ondi Timoner‘s documentary WE LIVE IN PUBLIC will have its Word Premiere in documentary feature competition. It is story of the Internet’s revolutionary impact on human interactions as told through the eyes of maverick web pioneer, Josh Harris and his transgressive $1.2 million dollar art project that shocked New York City. Timoner’s previous Sundance films were DIG!, which won the Grand Jury Award at the festival in 2004 and the documentary short RECYCLE (2005).
Jessica Yu, whose 1996 documentary short BREATHING LESSONS won an Oscar, will premier her documentary short THE KINDA SUTRA at Sundance. Yu’s new film is a humorous look at people’s youthful misconceptions about conception and combines documentary interviews with charming Karma Sutra-inspired animation. Yu’s previous Sundance films have included PROTAGONIST (2007), IN THE REALMS OF THE UNREAL (2004), and THE LIVING MUSEUM (1999).
