Noelle Stevenson, film commissioner of the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward Office of Film & Entertainment has been elected chair of the Film Commission Council for Film Florida.
In her new role, Stevenson will support the council’s continued efforts related to encouraging the development of new media and the expansion of existing industry infrastructure, as well as retention of the state’s growing film, television, and entertainment industry.
As film commissioner of the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward Office of Film & Entertainment, Stevenson is responsible for marketing and lead development. Since joining the office in April 2010, Noelle has generated nearly $150 million economic impact to BrowardCounty including Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood.
Current projects in development and filming in the destination include Rock of Ages, the feature film starring Alec Baldwin, Tom Cruise, Catherine Zeta Jones, Paul Giamatti, Russell Brand, to name a few. Also in town, the feature “Finding Joy,” starring Lainie Kazan, from “My Big Fat Greek wedding,” and Barry Bostwick.
Season 2 of A&E’s The Glades has returned to film in BrowardCounty, as well as episodes of USA’s Burn Notice. New this year, the remake of the 70’s television series Charlie’s Angels will be filming scenes in Broward as well as a new series MagicCity, a Mad Men meets the Sopranos period storyline. Other television highlights include segments on the Rachel Ray show and Top Chef.

As chair, Stevenson will act as a full film liaison in the developing, marketing, promoting and servicing of Florida’s film and entertainment industry. Her day to day responsibilities as chair include creating agendas, identifying opportunities, and partaking in marketing efforts, trade show overviews, missions and industry updates.
