Lucky Post begins 2015 with the addition of award-winning editor Nick Lofting whose work encompasses many genres and styles, from drama to comedy and the subtle shades in between. At Lucky Post, Lofting joins editing team Logan Hefflefinger and Sai Selvarajan.
“Lucky Post feels like home,” says Lofting. “Mind you, a spectacularly fancy home with a rather large and eclectic family reminiscent of Fraggle Rock. There’s genuine camaraderie and professional respect…which provides balance to my waggish insolence.”
Nick Lofting was born and raised in London and started his path to editor in what he considers his “University” at Saatchi & Saatchi UK and GPY&R (formerly George Patterson Bates) Sydney. Later, an apprenticeship with editor Sam Sneade would become instrumental in his editing career. Crediting Smuggler with his break into the US, Nick worked with directing team Happy on the acclaimed short film “Jane Lloyd” official selection of 14 film festivals and winner at London, TCM Classic Shorts, and Best Editing at the Creativity No Spot Film Festival, among others. Since then, his talents have spread across editorial companies in New York and Los Angeles while he enjoyed close collaborations with Rabbit Content and directors DarkFibre, Douglas Avery, and Michael Williams.
In recent years he’s worked on advertising projects for agencies CP+B, Havas and Ogilvy & Mather, for Kraft, Netflix & Renault. Other noted projects include the AICP Show-honored Laura Ashley “Sasha,” a charmingly heartfelt narrative about a unique girl who makes the world her own, and the MVPA award-winning music video for Solange Knowles’ “Losing You.” In addition to “Jane Lloyd,” Nick’s film projects include the brutally honest Save The Congo “Unwatchable,” the terrifying opening sequence for Dawn of The Dead and winner of a D&AD and Circle Award in collaboration with Kyle Cooper, as well as the star-studded Platinum Weird mockumentary for VH-1.
“Nick’s work is extraordinary, but it was when we met in person and really connected as people that I knew he’d make a terrific addition to Lucky Post,” comments CEO Tammie Kleinmann. “He’s truly an original thinker, owns his opinions, but is also gracious and funny. We are all excited to welcome him to Lucky Post.”
