NYC-based Nice Shoes has expanded its nationwide post-production network by teaming with Detroit-based Pluto to offer Remote Color Grading to clients in the area. Nice Shoes’ real-time, color calibrated system offers Midwest clients the ability to save time and money on travel without sacrificing quality when color grading.
Pluto joins a roster of respected Remote partners including EngineRoomEdit in Boston, Republic Editorial in Dallas and Vapor Post in Miami. “Our strategy has been to find the right allies in each city,” said Nice Shoes CEO Dominic Pandolfino. “Pluto offers the same level of comfort, service and quality that clients expect from Nice Shoes. Consistency of quality, and of company cultures is very important to us.”
For over three years, Nice Shoes has offered a unique, proprietary technology featuring both a secure HD feed and a display calibrated by the studio’s engineers to match exactly with the monitors in New York. A dedicated computer running Skype or other video-conferencing services connects clients and colorists, allowing them to collaborate efficiently.
“Offering Nice Shoes colorists remotely out of Pluto seemed like the next logical step in our commitment to providing a full list of services to our clients, “ said Dave Corbett, Pluto Partner/CD. Pandolfino feels that the level of talent and technology offered by this partnership is without comparison. “We’re able to connect Pluto’s clients with the top colorists in the country. Chris Ryan, Lez Rudge, Lenny Mastrandrea, Ron Sudul, and Gene Curley have delivered amazing work for GE, American Express, Under Armour, Mercedes, Wendy’s, The NFL, and Ford. We’re excited to share our expertise with Detroit.”
