Check out new VR videos from FOX that immerse fans in Ryan Murphy’s popular “Scream Queens” series starring Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Jamie Lee Curtis and more. "Scream Queens” is a horror-comedy episodic series centered around a series of murders tied to the Kappa Kappa Tau sorority, set at the fictional Wallace University in New Orleans. These VR shorts are unique in that they provide fans a more intimate, immersive experience on the sets and with the talent of the show. These engaging VR videos will further drive fan engagement into experimenting with the medium via consumer-accessible platforms, even if VR is a platform they have yet to explore. Eight total VR videos have been produced for the Samsung MilkVR, YouTube 360 and Facebook 360 platforms and will be rolling out in the coming weeks.
FOX was interested in developing Virtual Reality experiences to complement the launch of “Scream Queens” and turned to SuperSphere Productions to help bring their VR concepts to life. SuperSphere Productions is a consultancy that helps clients take the guesswork out of the complex world of VR project execution and delivery. SuperSphere founder Lucas Wilson worked closely with Fox creative and marketing executives to develop an efficient production, post production, and delivery process using the talent, tools and equipment already in place for “Scream Queens.”
The VR content was captured over a two-day shoot on the show’s set in New Orleans, LA, directed by Jessica Sanders and shot by the 360Heros team. A series of VR experiences are set for release: the two launching today include a behind the scenes tour of the set and fabulous closet of Chanel Oberlin (played by Emma Roberts), created by “Scream Queens” production designer Andrew Murdock, and another presents a screaming match between the show’s Zayday Williams (Keke Palmer) and Grace Gardner (Skyler Samuels).
Following its Emmy-winning Comic-Con VR experience for its hit drama “Sleepy Hollow” last year, these Scream Queens videos mark the first of an ongoing FOX VR and augmented reality initiative around its shows.
