Pre-cleared music catalog of independent artists and bands now available for licensing using MuseIQ®'s powerful Borean Search Engine™
MuseIQ® founders, Augustus Skinner and Ronan Coleman, have expanded the MuseIQ® Library of handpicked production music by launching a companion module, the “Recordshop”, to the MuseIQ website offering pre-cleared original music by some of the hippest bands of today. Similar to the MuseIQ® Library with its streamlined graphic interface and sophisticated search functionality, the MuseIQ® Recordshop puts the best original, independent artists and bands at the fingertips of not only the advertising and post production communities but of all major and independent content creators alike.
Following on from last year’s successful launch of MuseIQ®’s online production music library, Augustus Skinner and Ronan Coleman have recruited former Morrissey co-writer and drummer, Spencer Cobrin, to the position of Head of A&R to expedite the growth of the MuseIQ® Recordshop, a catalog that offers original songs available for licensing from some of today’s best independent bands and artists. Notables include Neal Casal, Vyvienne Long and BBC Radio favorites Lux Lisbon.
“With the launch of the MuseIQ® Recordshop, we are excited to round out our one-stop music licensing offering to include songs by original artists and bands. Our goal is to make licensing great music more economical and convenient for our clients”, says Coleman.
The MuseIQ® Recordshop utilizes the same Borean Search Engine™ as the MuseIQ® Library. “We developed the Borean Matrix™ as a unified language of terms relating to music. This matrix of over 3000 terms comprises the sensory, physical and emotional characteristics of music ranging from basic terms (eg. dark, city, happy, etc.) to detailed nuances (eg. forbidding, cosmopolitan, euphoric, etc.)”, explains Skinner, adding that “each track is encoded with 100-150 descriptors by a team of musical experts. Every encoded track is then double checked for accuracy.”
MuseIQ®’s client list includes Amazon.com, Disney, IBM, Charriol, Estée Lauder and many more leading global brands. To create a free account to search, audition and download music that will be a perfect fit for your timeline, budget and scope, please visit MuseIQ®.

“Ǝvolution” Comes Full Circle At The Chelsea Film Festival
The Chelsea Film Festival, running from October 16th through October 20th, 2024, at Regal Cinemas here in Union Square, is set to host the East Coast premiere of Ǝvolution, a thought-provoking experimental micro-short film that proves big ideas can come in small packages and in perfect circles.
In just 1 minute 16 seconds, this cinematic gem by Award-Winning Director Romina Schwedler, with original music by Argentine Composer Ignacio Montoya Carlotto, explores a cycle as old as time: life leads to progress, progress leads to destruction, and destruction, well, leads back to life. But is this vicious circle unbreakable? Ǝvolution suggests the answer is yes, unless we decide to open our eyes.
Inspired by the overwhelming number of recent events that threaten human existence, Ǝvolution, possibly the shortest film in this 12th edition of the festival, plays out entirely through the symbolism of circles, cleverly illustrating —in the blink of an eye— the repeating patterns of history, and confronting viewers with the uncomfortable truth that our so-called “progress” may, in fact, be guiding us to our own ruin.Premiering at the Regal 14 Union Square, New York City, on October 18, 2024, at 11 a.m., Romina Schwedler's micro-short, featuring Leah Young with cinematography by Alan J. Carmona, will be sure to spark conversations longer than the film itself! Forcing viewers to reconsider the true meaning of evolution, not just as a biological process, but as a reflection of our collective journey as humans.
With a string of festival appearances across the globe, including CineGlobe at CERN (Switzerland/France), Oscar®... Read More
